Who are your favorite speakers on Islam?

Edip Yukel was recently becoming one of my favorite spokesperson on the subject of Islam. He is a courageous thinker whos reflections are very thought provoking. I was recently struck by his dissertation on, 'Rational Monotheism.' Our brother Edip seems to have taken on the cause of reconciling Islam and science and thereby liberating the Muslim mind from the 'dark ages.' As I digested his thoughts and observations an obvious imbalance kept teeter-tottering his level headed approach in my mind. I'm talking about the value of non-linear thought which does not necessarily follow any discernible pattern. The order in which things happen do not necessarily add up to truth, this is an error in logic demonstrable in case of the savage who beats his drum at dawn to make the sun rise. One thing occuring before another is no proof of cause. Edip describes his rational conversion and conformation of his belief in God. a process that he sees as a necessity for all believers. Many, dare I say most people do not share brother Yukel's intellectual gifts. Is it really that difficult to be a believer? Thought can have a linear or non-linear make up as is it seems the case with the Quran the literal and the figurative. The end or the conclusion is the important thing right? Not how we got there. The Quran is designed so that the intellectual and non-interllectual reach the same belief. Edip's outlook seems like more elittism to me. No intellectual argument or amazing sermon has made me Muslim or keeps me on the straight path. God alone makes believers. Am I less than you because I don't possess an identical understanding? My favorite Speaker on Islam is God.

Peace brothers and sisters,im a noob i just joined this forum.Found alot of intresting stuff i am already into,my english isnt perfect -[ But like many of us here i am seeking the truth about the beutyfull deen Islam yes
I thought i might throw in some comments about stuff i wondered about to,cause i see many openminded people hereAnd like brother -Bigmo is saying here,Dr.Gary Miller is one of my favorites to,bright man indeed. !
But sometime ago i read that he went "underground" after Ahmad Deedat passed away or even before that,some sunnis has threatened him or something. So he doesnt show up in public like he used to but he still gives lectures i think,according to what ive read long ago,sry dont remember where i read it exactly.It all could be empty rumours ofcourse,i dont know.
True or not i feel so bad,cause that man is very smart and he knows what his talking about.
Probably,some fanatics shut him up,cause he always backed his statements with Quran instead of "mulla,imam"stories called the hadith.peace Correct me if im wrong

Thats true he quoted and backed up his arguments using the Quran. Not only sunni's did not like him, some christians did not like him as well for the same reason.

Quran says it is fully preserved.But he thinks it was adulterated for 1400 years.
Secondly ,anyone who thinks that code 19 can change the Quran ,in fact he is declaring superamacy of Code 19 over the Quran. Can any rational person think like that.

Yes watched it in full a few nights ago, funny you posted it. Very good lecture. I really like the silly questions people asked, it showed their blind faith exposed and not based on logic. One guy asked if he pealed an orange and ate it, could Garry Miller tell him what it tasted like rotfl Garry replied 'Not the particular one he ate, but he knows what an orange taste like if thats what he ment'. The guy then went on to say he does not know because the spirit of Jesus is not within him or something. rotfl Honestly, if people have a few hours to spare they must watch this lecture, its got everything or shall I say something for everyone. If Rev.John is reading and has watched it, I would really like to hear his view. They asked Dr Garry Miler if he was a muslim, he replied if muslim means a submitter to God then yes Iam. Great stuff. Ahmet Deedat has some very nice comebacks as well, I like him.

I like Dr. Zakir Naik. From what I've seen, he always gives good speeches and responses to questions pertaining to Islaam, and he goes into a lot of detail to explain his stance on Islaamic issues. I liked Ahmad Deedat too, as well as Dr. Rashad Khalifa...

Ohh boy, I am lol-ing again!
I almost forgot about Yusuf Estes. I really like his speeches concerning Islaam, especially in relation to comparitive religion... He used to be a Christian minister, so when it comes to comparitive religious studies, especially in relation to Christianity and Islaam, he's one of the best speakers right now, at least in my opinion.

They say Gary Miller and Ahmed Deedat were closet Quranist. I like them both especially Miller. He seems to have vanished from the scene.

One of my favourites too D
What I admire about him is his certainty, MashaAllah. He's doing a lot to expound upon the language barrier that seems to be apparently for those wanting to understand The Glorious Qur'an.
I also like Hamza Andreas Tzortzis. His zeal is refreshing and a nice approach, he deals mainly with Atheist-Muslim debating and he's an enthusiastic lecturer, I like that.
Another one is Abbas Virjee. He's Shiite and has a Shi'a approach to his talks and his series of lectures discussing 'Internal Reform' has been very helpful in terms of approaching aspects of Spiritual development.
