I was reading ayman's topic http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9188.0 and it is very informative, but I've found something unclear in his words
When does scorching heat begin to take place? The time of scorching heat starts after the summer solstice. This is the time when the sun is at its highest point and hence the shadow is smallest. Verse 2545 talks about the indicative relationship between the sun and the shadow. It is after the summer solstice that the weather starts to become hot.
My objection is in this there're two dates during the year when the Sun is at 90 degress over Mekkah and they are
May 28th and July 15th
But, if we accept this information as is then we'll have a problem it's not 100% truth (real, haqq). Calendar most of humanity is using is not precize, and it has many errors in it. As we probably know, we should use ONLY the Sun and the Moon for calculation and counting of days. This is why, for example, summer solstice is not same day each year, because calendar is not correct and the difference in summer solstice date can be in a few days. So, to know exactly when these days are in each year we should, as real Muslim scientists did, do calculations and see when the Sun is at 90 degrees over Mekkah.
The other thing, very important, is that the word "ramadhan" has duality in it, even it's not dual noun. So, it, as all other words with duality in them, talks about something "two". To think more about this, please try to understand words as "Er-Rahman", "insan", "Sheytan", "rukban", "El-Mizan", "El-Furqan", etc.
My point is that the word "ramadhan" is talking about these two dates during the year when the Sun is at its peak, and what we can calculate if we're following His ayets. So, "month of fasting", according to what ayman said and what I further understood, should be when we notice the Sun at its peak and it should end when we notice same again. This will give, more or less, 40 days, which are mentioned in stories about Moosa a.s.
According to what I said, "month of fasting" is not for 30 days as main-stream Muslim scholars are presenting, nor it's for 10 days as "alternative understandings" are tellling - it should be for 40 days or so.

Shahr in is not month, it is full moon. For proof please refer to calendar for year 2015 (http//www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=2015&country=74). As it is seen, there are 13 "shahr"s in the year 2015. So if shahr stood for month lasting some 29.5 days, 13 months would last nearly 384 days. There can never be 384 days in a 365-day year.

Bender, no I don't mean two times a year, I mean ones between two events, which I described. This period (between these two dates) lasts for 40 days or so.
brook, shahr is not "full moon". To avoid argueing, please try to find all its accurancies and try to put your definition in them. I hope you'll see that they makeno sense.
Btw, brook, if timeanddate.com or similar informations are valid for us, then we should ask so many questions. For example what is day, when it starts and when it ends? And, yes, I hope you'll find ayet where is said how many "shahrs" are in each year.
I never said that we should fast any month from any calendar. Calendars are men-made.
