My English is poor and I don't know if I can tell all I have about these ayets, so I'll shorten my story and I'll leave it to you to read ayets and to think about them. Take this only as a hint...

Word Et-Temasil from 2152 is understood as "idols, pictures...", but none of these is its meaning. This word, as you probably know is used only once in ayets about Suleyman a.s. This word, with several more in 3413, is jinn "types".

People (males) of Lut a.s. were doing sin with other males and they wanted to do sin with angels sent to punish them.
Similarly, people (males) of Ibrahim a.s. were doing sin with female jinn of Et-Temasil.

When Ibrahim a.s. broke their idols (esnam) they wanted to punish him, and they wanted to make him do same sin as they did. So, they ordered "harriquhu", which is not "burn him!", it's "cause (make) him burn", which meant to them to force him to make sin with female jinn, which were in jeheem. Don't forget that jinn are made of fire.

Ibrahim a.s. asked for protection from Allah swt, and he knew that he can get bad progeny and asked for salih instead. So, Allah ordered to "fire" ("been from fire&quot to cold itself and to protect Ibrahim a.s.

After that we have, in both surahs, about his pure progeny.

I hope this can cause somebody to think about these ayets and to discard all stories which are not real (haqq). Allah swt knows best.

Selam to ones who are following Ibrahim's a.s. path, and he was hanifa.
