Yes, it's a 1 hour 4 minute long video about cosmology - Lawrence Krauss is talking about the Universe with a big u.
It's is a very interesting talk he's having, and really worth sitting through the whole thing. If you dont feel like watching it now, then do bookmark it for some other time you feel like some easily chewed science.Selam
Interesting yes. His views and jokes on religion might be offesive so be warned ;D He feels he has everything explained but I am sure it will change again soon.

True, though the jokes and banter are mostly a result of annoyance at the ID and creationist movements over there in the US and with the mostly atheist audience he have sitting through the speech, he is just adding the commentary to lighten up the long lecture. Nonetheless, it is a minor annoyance though as I'd preferred it if he had skipped all the bush jokes(as amusing as they are) and spent the extra minutes talking more.

I don't know if you noticed but he does not mention anything about the electric universe (plasma cosmology). He calls the missing links to the calculations as dark matter or dark energy which makes up 99.99% of matter and energy we could not see in space. I watched a few clips on youtube about plasma cosmology and it is mind blowing. I recomend it.

He calls the missing links to the calculations as dark matter or dark energy which makes up 99.99% of matter and energy we could not see in space. The reason is that plasma cosmology is not yet well received by the scientific community. There are, at present, many arguments against it, but who knows, science changes day by day.

Yes. I know its been avoided very much at present but I think it might be the missing link to our understanding of the universe, or at least the driving mechanism to help us move forward. Lets wait and see hey.

you maybe right, who knows yet. But we have to go with what we know so far until it is shown to be wrong. Much more research and discoveries have been made using the "Big Bang" theory than using any other. If, in the future, it is proved wrong, then at least it gave us a better understanding of the universe than we had before. For people to say that Einstein, Newton etc were liars, is totally wrong, they were working with what they knew at the time and they advanced science by leaps and bounds. The supporters of Plasma theory say that gravity doesn't exist or that gravity could not hold the universe together, this is true if you think of gravity as a separate force, which of course it isn't. Modern thinking about gravity say that it is a relationship between mass and space/time, the "bending" of space/time by mass. This theory also explains the time shift with velocity which the plasma theory cannot. No theory is completely provable which is why it is called a "theory", we just have to work with what we have and with the very limited intelligence of the human being.

I have actually heard a little about that model, but as far as I know it seems to have some major holes and a general lack of details and predictions.
It for example doesn't have a satisfactory explanation for the background radiation, but if it could develop and get some aspects testified then we'll see if it'll become a valid view.
I am no physicist really but I trust that it will be either falsified or validated eventually. -

They seem to have a strong case as most of the observations could be easily conducted in a lab. But as you see until it gathers universal acceptance what ever we say is hopeless as we are not involved in the research directly.
