peace,
For me, the breakthrough that led to my current understanding of "salat" came when someone pointed out to me the implied definition of the word in 7531-32
Chapter 75
- For he did not confirm (saddaqa*) nor go/turned towards (salla).
- But he denied (kaththaba) and went/turned away (tawalla). **

Source http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/slw.htmSalam, Peace,
Yes I have read your article, so how would you translate "salat" is act of "go/turned towards"????
For me it is not totaly right, I tried to use that definition and is some cases it just doensn/t make sense. As simple example try to replace it in 2238! Makes no sense at all!
Another point is, does SALAT has only one and exclusive meaning?
ps have you read the article, that guy has lot of other interesting articles http//www.ahewar.org/m.asp?i=879
I dont know him, if someone has any info?Peace

I'd say that "going/turning towards" is always implied with "slw". We could use "bond", "attachment", "commitment", etc. for "salat". It doesnt really matter, as long as it is linked to the basic meaning.

Yes I checked the link, thanks btw.
But Wakas didn't use "going/turning towards" but "bonds/affirmations" which I agree with it.The link I provided was just for information as it is in arabic and give an interresting point of view, meaning arabic people are starting to question themselve.
