tajmaha "Those uses of ma are basic knowledge in the Arabic language. They are taught to and known by every Arab student in intermediate grades ( for 11-14 year old children), in ordinary public schools in the Arab World. Now how would I or anybody else in this whole world overstrech'MA'!? It is not even a verb where it may have a long list of derivatives with meanings that can be so different from each other.

Hmmm...this being the case then, how did your beloved Yusef Ali and the rest of the Arab and non-Arab Qur-an translators, miss, what according to you, is so basic and fundamental that, it is taught at grade school level? Doesn't say much for their scholarship, eh? Please, post the name of a Qur-an translator who, translates the ayats under discussion as you do.
