sunMarhabaRamadan Mubarak brothers and sisters, I am a recent revert for almost a year now. I am a Quran only muslim, the true pure islam ) I was raised as a Christian, but found many errors and issues that created problems for me. I don't agree that Jesus, is the son of god, and that it's Shirk to do so. Anyways my Journey to Islam has been about 8 years.... I did my Shahada almost a year ago ) Islam is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. It literally saved my life.
For now, I am struggling to find others that are like myself. I currently live in a small town with a very small muslim community. I have made many muslim friends online and do chat on Disqus, but I find when I voice my thoughts on Islam I am constantly harassed and treated badly by other muslims, especially sunni muslims ( I find it very hard to also find authentic translated quran that doesn't include errors or hadiths. Who do you all follow and learn from? What Quran would you recommend for English translation? What websites do you all like and youtube channels? I am a mom to an autistic child as well. He is doing well with learning Islam, and has nice muslim friends that have helped teach him to pray and many other things. Alhamdullah.

I too recommend Free-minds translation.
I use Youtube, and recommend that you check out a Qur'an only brother named "Sam Gerrans" who comes from a Christian background, He covers a lot of issues within our society and has good insight. Another channel I know is "Quran Centric". His video on "Salat in the Quran" is structured thoroughly and uses Qur'an verses to back his theory.
I've had my fair share of debating with sunni's and it never goes anywhere.

I respect your journey on your belief. If you can stand with patience and will, I see no reason to develop a good sense to detect errors on Quran translations without any knowledge of Arabic.
http//www.al-quran.info is very good source to compare translations verse by verse. T.B. Irving, Yusuf Ali, Majid Daryabadi, J.M. Rodwell translations are seemed to me good ones. But there are many and possibly better ones out there. I suggest you to check out translations of the verse 319. Some of them used the word of "islam" directly without translation but correct translations should translate the word of "islam" as "submission (to God's will)" or just "peace". The word of "Islam" we use today is a term but there is no any religious terms in Quran. They are just simple words that have simple meanings. You can pick some verses by yourself to compare (I have many). The site is very useful and the method I use is very helpful.

Although it may contain some outdated infos, I highly recommend you to read Rashad Khalifa's translation of the Quran. I also recommend you to read a very interesting and enlightening booklet he wrote entitled "Quran, Hadith and Islam". You can find both of them on Amazon.
