      As an aside, I was watching a documentary recently and it discussed how experiments have discovered we possibly have "concept neurons", i.e. neurons that only "fire/activate" when a specific thing stimulates them. In the examples they gave, a specific neuron only fired when it was shown a picture of a specific celebrity alone (i.e. did not fire with others shown along with celebrity) and also fired when that celebrity's name was written in text, not other text etc. So, the same neuron fired for a concept.

      This intrigued me because, this potentially means we could have concept neurons for many things, e.g. justice, good, bad, God, love etc.

        An intriguing question i have in mind How do you deliberately kill some certain "hardwired/diehard" concept neurons? Or can you?

            Staying within the scope of the article I would express reservations about the term "hardwired," and staying within the scope of the article I think the answer to your second question might be "Yes, we can".

            Wonder if this would have any relation to the idea that you empower that which you give thought to.

              sorry, by hardwired/diehard i meant something that's learned and habituated for tens of years... as in 'old dogs die hard'

              of course we can always kill brain cells by poisoning hypno though i'm afraid it won't be "accurate" enough P.

              This maybe related to age, but when we learn something new which renders the old view invalid, aren't we rebuilding the existing neurons (connections/relations)? Cos it seems not so efficient if we're only building new ones and letting the old ones die...

                Right. The neuron-concept association (the firing of a neuron in response to a concept) appears to be a learned one, which is why I think it might be possible to unlearn it.

                Poisoning? How about washing? IFB

                Maybe the neuron or the concept doesn't die, only the association dissolves. Of course, it is possible that the association might be remade, or a new association formed, at a later date.
