What is the correct way to help someone interested in Islam?

Salam All,
I have a friend who is interested in islam . He says that he needs inner peace and he somehow feels that islam can give him what he needs.
I already told him about my belief system , my perception of life and all its apects according to my values which I derived from Quran . I also told him to read Quran hisself to find his answers . I emphasized how it is important to read Quran with the intention of understanding and it is actually easy to undestand. I talked about that It is the real source of guidance .
He is convinced and started to read Quran but apparently he is having some diffuculties in understanding that he is postponing reading it.
When I tell him about my experiences and views about real islam he seems fascinated.I am confused.
Are there anything more that I can do for him ? Or maybe my approach is wrong ?Thanx

Which Quran translation is he reading?
In terms of wording, the most simple is probably Rashad Khalifa or M.Abdel Haleem. If he is having difficulty with it, that is not unusual, simply take time, and no need to understand everything in one go. Persistence overcomes resistance.

I think the conflict is always deeper. I believe that we will seek out from the Quran what we will; it is for God Alone to guide. If you allow some background about him, somebody might be able to come up with something pertinent.
As an aside, I have a thread running which is somewhat related -- at the moment it is about the years that Christians spend pouring over the Quran, only to prove that it actually a "reading" of the Christian books. And fortunately a member semes to have stood up in defense of this Christian belief , so you and/or your friend might have a first-hand experience of conflicting views. And if you are interested, you could weigh in with your own take on the subject.
