If I have both physical & mental might & have the opportunities, what will stop me from my Selfish interests - why just?

The pregnant assumption lurking behind your question is that the only life is the current earthly one.

      Is that the case?

Your "mental might" will understand what is fair and stop you from your selfish interests. unless you decide to play mind games and cheat with yourself.

CavemanDoctor! Yes, it is the case - considering there is no life after death.

Sarah! Without God & Hereafter, fairness (always) does not make sense. Who will not want to be the fittest in a jungle?

Omeiza! how do you reach fairness in the first state?! especially if you have "mental might"

anyway everyone wants to be the fittest in the jungle but not everyone wants to get up and work for it.

                you don't make sense..

a just life is for a better life; for the self and the people around.

                salam

                peace sister,
A very nice reply this guy Omeiza has not been making sense in the forum here, continue to monitor and follow his post. I cannot see where he has been able to sound to reason.
our mental might superceed our physical might it you put your mental might into proper perspectives and shapes there is no doubt that you wont know and differentiate between right and wrong and know that even having the physical might it is wrong and unjust to use it purely for selfish purposes, even if there is no God and accountability.
Most of us do what is right not because of the god and accountability necessarily becauce our sense adn conscience tell us that is the rigtt thing to do.

Sarah! Among animals, intended justice does not exist; among human animals, it is a word to pacify the oppressed.

some things he says can seem a lil peculiar his older posts seem to make more sense i think it's the limitation of mobile. notice the mobile symbol? maybe.

We were born into a society filled with discourses we adopted them with no choice, as we got older we challenged them and our own beliefs and came to our own understandings. even then we continue to learn.

                    Omeiza

what are you saying? justice doesn't exist and it's only a term to please the oppressed?

Without God, life is meaningless so there is no motivation to live a just life. A secular state can never uphold justice

true a secular state won't always be just because it'll follow democracy based on numbers + votes. though people will argue how do you follow the way of God, the way God wants?

how many people can agree on God's rules? doubt non muslims will accept following laws in Quran even muslims have differing views. though people will follow natural laws decreed by God willingly or unwillingly 1315.

To accept the TRUTH is to accept God. Live a just life & you are guided - names are not important!

                            PEACE SISTER,
                            Sorry for my belated reply.
In the final analysis what is the god? The god is all good so if you are doing good you are godly. If you have the consciousness of doing good out of unselfish motives, even at a personal cost you are godly, I have seen person who publicly denounce the existence of a supernatural being and disbelieve in god but believes in good and consciously does good as a matter of principle. My experience has also revealed to me those who claimed to believe in the god and accountability, and yet commit the most horrendous act of crime in this world. This later kind of people has been described by the god himself in verses 2204-206.
In any case what is the basis of this question, what is the sense in it? The reality is that person/communities and nations who claimed to believe in the god and accountability are the very ones that are playing might is right in our very eyes today, how many of there issues have they given to consultation and dialogue? It is not true that once a person or community claimed to believe in the god and accountability he does not play might is right.

                              Peace np.

Hypocrisy exists.. belief and actions come in hand to hand. the best we can do is prevent fasad/corruption and do good.

                              peace.
