A contradiction in the Quran about following other scriptures? Please help
-
Why is it that Allah clearly prohibits us from following scriptures aside from the Qur'an
In what-
Hadith-
after-
Allah-
and-
his ayat-
will they believe-In what HADITH after ALLAH and HIS AYAT will they believe?
In what-
hadith-
after this-
will they believe-In what HADITH after THIS will they believe?
In what HADITH after THIS will they believe?
Should We treat the ones who have surrendered the same as those who are criminals? What is wrong with you, how do you judge? Or do you have another book which you study? In it you find whatever you wish to find?
They insist upon following conjecture, when THE GUIDANCE is GIVEN to them
from their Lord. But tells us that whoever believes in the Quran, the christian scriptures, the jewish scriptures, leads a righteous life and believes in the last day will enter paradise ??
Thanks

But it tells us that the Righteous Jews and Christians will enter heaven as well, and the Jews believe in their scriptures while the Christians believe in theirs.
hmm
Maybe 456 7750 refer to following things after the revelation of the Quran that's why it says 'after'. I dunno. -

With a breadth of vision unparalleled in any other religious faith, the idea of ?salvation? is here made conditional upon three elements only belief in God, belief in the Day of Judgement, and righteous action in life. The statement of this doctrine at this juncture ? that is, in the midst of an appeal to the children of Israel ? is warranted by the false Jewish belief that their descent from Abraham entitles them to be regarded as ?God?s chosen people?2.
Applying the rules discussed in the note at the beginning Belief in God and the Day of Judgement also implies that one must believe in the angels, the previous revelations (Al-Kitab), and the prophets. Belief in the prophets also implies that we must not make any distinction between the prophets or we become the unbeliever. (see 2136, 285; 384; 4150-152

good point
but im also wondering why Allah would aprove of the jew/christian books when they consist of such falsehood..
The two vreses you quoted is talking about faith in God and the hereafter. This has nothing to do with a person's religious sect or denomination. Hence the Quran establishes a universal criteria regarding faith. It has nothing to di with scriptures. Scriptures are talked about in Maida Suran from verse 43 onwards.
Anyways here is my take on this
http//www.conflictingviews.com/religion/all-religions/koran-says-torah-gospel-not-corrupted-3324.html
Its kind of bias since I lean towards accetance of previous scriptures. But its a good start on the subject for someone looking to start somewhere.

O ok. Thank you for the clarification.

Also although the books are corrupted, they contain many righteous teachings. Yes, it is better to follow the Qu'ran, but some Jews and Christians will refuse.
Can someone corrupt me if I'm wrong, but apparently there is no mention of a trinitarian concept in the Christian scriptures?
Christians may bring up the verse which says "There is no way to God other than through me."
However we can apply this to all Prophets, there was no way to find Allah other than through Muhammad (pbuh) and I believe that the above verse was for the people of that time. The seal of the prophets was not around at that time right so for that time the only way to God would be through Jesus (pbuh)

I've discovered that Genesis says that "God rested from the work"
New Living Translation (?2007)
On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.English Standard Version (?2001)
And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.New American Standard Bible (?1995)
By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.GOD'S WORD? Translation (?1995)
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing. On the seventh day he stopped the work he had been doing. (The first of only two translations which removes that He rested. I don't have any knowledge of whether this is or is not an authentic/credible translationKing James Bible
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.American King James Version
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.American Standard Version
And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.Bible in Basic English
And on the seventh day God came to the end of all his work; and on the seventh day he took his rest from all the work which he had done.Douay-Rheims Bible
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.Darby Bible Translation
And God had finished on the seventh day his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.English Revised Version
And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.Webster's Bible Translation
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.World English Bible
On the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.Young's Literal Translation
and God completeth by the seventh day His work which He hath made, and ceaseth by the seventh day from all His work which He hath made. The second one which removed rest. I don't know why or if this is an authentic/credible translationThe preceding is a commentary on why this does not mean that he did not rest from the work he had done out of exhaustion.
Ge 22-7. The First Sabbath.
- and he rested on the seventh day-not to repose from exhaustion with labor (see Isa 402, but ceased from working, an example equivalent to a command that we also should cease from labor of every kind.
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom. So I agree with Isa 4028, God does not grow tired or weary. However all the above translations say he rested from the work he had done. What else could this mean other than all the work he had done required rest?
Perhaps God wants them to examine their books carefully if they refuse to follow the Qu'ran to see its contradictions.
For example, Deuteronomy 3015-18 states the clear conditions for the covenant it states that the Jews are to uphold their end of the the deal, and God will uphold His in return.
However there is also another verse which attributes to God saying the land will always be yours...so God is abrogating His words according to these previous scriptures. I feel He hopes that those who study the scriptures truthfully and with honesty and not with blindness will dwell on these contradictions and with God's will take heed.

Even Christians read the seventh day God rested and think but 'wait God doesn't need to rest' so why do that? The answer we have is that it is a model for us to rest 1/7 days and to set aside a day to thank God. Do you really think and regard this passage as a contradiction between the bible and God's nature or could you consider that you made a simplistic interpretation to give you a reason not to read further?

So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all his work which he had done in creation.
It says he blessed and hallowed the day, because on it God rested from all his work which he had done in creation. A formidable task, but nothing beyond the limits of the All Mighty. The one who does not grow tired or weary and in need of rest. It says in plain English he blessed it because on it God rested from all his work which he had done.
ISAIAH 4028 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.I posted this on another forum, and the person said he rested to enjoy the fruit of his creation.
Enjoying the fruit of your work happens because it was hard for you right? So you enjoy it because of the toil & labour required right?
Yet Isaiah 4828 says He does not grow weary or tired.
God is All Powerful, He can destroy as easily as He can create. The Lord giveth as easily as He taketh away right? This is why we are to fear Him. So why does He rest to enjoy the fruit of His labour? This is all nothing for Him, absolutely nothing, it is marvelous for us, creation, the universe, is all marvelous for us, but absolutely nothing for Him. Yet the verses state differently, He rested from all the work He had done.

Really? It's that black and white and dogmatic to you?
We both know that a lot of discussion about God involves anthropomorphism of God. For instance we often say God holds us in his hands but we don't literally think God has hands but it conveys completely adequately God's caring nature. So when the Bible says 'God rested' I immediately think anthropomorphically - don't you?

I don't disagree when it says he holds us he doesn't literally mean His hands, which I don't think He has. I just don't see how God blessed and hallowed this day because He rested after all the work he did can mean anything besides rested because of all the work that He did

I don't think God goes to fabricland to get a veil when He places veils on our hearts, I don't take that literally, but I don't see how I could take this particular verse in any other way?

speaking of black and white and dogmatic, can you explain why you believe that Jesus was the Son of God in a black and white and dogmatic way. God doesn't actually have hands right? Did he actually bear a son though?
Correct me if I am wrong, but David referred to himself/or was referred to as the son of God too, correct? Did you interpret this in a black and white and dogmatic way?
Why do you believe the "only way to the Father is through me" in a black and white and dogmatic way? Which peoples did Jesus teach, Jews or others? Why is Jesus referred to as the good shepherd? Was he the shepherd of mankind or the shepherd of the Jews? Why then was he referred to as the King of Jews and accused by the Sanhedrin council of falsely declaring himself as the King of the Jews?
