How do you understand the following verses
997 The Nomads are the worst in rejection and hypocrisy, and more likely not to know the boundaries of what God has sent down upon His messenger. God is Knower, Wise.
998 And from the Nomads are some who look upon what they spend as a fine, and wait for misfortune upon you. They will have the misfortune of evil, and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.
What does Quran mean by nomads, as in who are the nomads today in this day and age?

"The nomads", or "The Arabs from the desert", or "People from the mountains" or whatever, what I understand from that verse is that there are indeed people, who being kept away from knowledge (in the example of living in the the desert) are being ignorant and very stubborn, and at the same time they are very satisfied with what they have (in the example of their way of living). People almost impossible to reason with.
