What is the Satanic Verses about?

Salam/Peace everyone, i noticed i lot of Islamophobes loves a book called Satanic Verses but i have not read it but i think i recall a sister in this forum (i think reel) mentioned that the book is based off hadith.

It is a parody on traditional account that Muhammad recited verses approving three goddesses, al lat, al uzzat and manat, only to later abrogate these verses and reject the goddesses in 5319-21. See traditional tafsir; https//quranx.com/tafsirs/22.52
