    peace

if it's the verse Mazhar is talking about then you have it wrong

    I agree.

This fatwa doesn't give any concrete reasoning or proof, just the scholar's opinion. And he obviously has a very dirty mindset if he believes that a woman reciting the Qur'an will lead to fitnah.

    nope

And you trip/fascinatingly move, whomever from them you have influenced, with your sound

the verse means make everything haram for them (for the humankind) something normal where they will make up excuses to say that it is good and it is a joyful like singing for example and it's the right word here to describe .

Faraz Rabbani, the scholar who issued the fatwa, is one of the sheikhs at SunniPath. He also says that women's "prayer in the depths of her house has more reward than for her to pray in the masjid", that a menstruating woman is not permitted to enter a mosque, that women are not permitted to wear perfume when going out and so on and so forth. He recommends a book called "The Ideal Muslimah" which is full of unbelievable crap, such as that the woman only goes to paradise if her husband is pleased with her. Of course the whole book is full of the most misogynistic ahadeeth.

Sorry, I can't take such a guy seriously.

        yuck

Aishah urged women to take good care of their husbands and to recognize the rights that their husbands had over them.
She saw these rights as being so great and so important that a woman was barely qualified to wipe the dust from her
husband's feet with her face, as she stated "O womenfolk, if you knew the rights that your husbands have over you,
every one of you would wipe the dust from her husband's feet with her face."
        ...

The warning given to the woman whose husband is angry with her reaches such an extent that it
would shake the conscience of every righteous wife who has faith in Allah (SWT) and the Last Day
she is told that her prayer and good deeds will not be accepted, until her husband is pleased with
        her again.

        ...

When the true Muslim woman thinks about these sahih hadith which describe the fate of most
women in the Hereafter, she is always on the alert lest she fall into the sins of ingratitude towards
her husband, or frequent cursing, or denying her husband's good treatment of her, or forgetting to
give thanks for times of ease, or failing to be patient at times of difficulty. In any case, she hastens
to give charity as the Prophet (PBUH) urged all women to do, in the hope that it may save them
from that awful fate which will befall most of those women who deviate from truth and let trivial
matters distract them from remembering Allah (SWT) and the Last Day, and whose bad qualities
will ultimately lead them into the Fire of Hell. The Muslim woman, on the other hand, sets the
highest example of respect towards one's husband and taking note of his good qualities. This is the
attitude of loyalty that befits the true Muslim woman who respects her husband's rights and does
        not ignore his virtues.

Dear sister Leyna, are you denying that women's voice can excite men? see what brother Mazhar said

Voice is the weakest stimuli that can excite. First and strongest is the vision and touch.

          By "voice" I mean speech.

The same for women. They get attracted to manly voices.

And not only to voices, to looks as well.

This, for example, is a guy many women find sexy, based on his voice, looks, and movements

Stimuli is only that which is meant to allure. Speech and tone can conveys hidden signals intentionally or unintentionally. This is why injunction was issued to be careful in the selection of words and the tone of speech, since people with disease in their hearts, can perceive a different signal, if the tone and words are uttered off the cuff, without first having evaluated the pros and cons.

yes i agree with what you have said but its the people with disease in their hearts that need to be the target of change and not women shut up and locked away just because they have a voice.

We all have to stand strong and not let the history (in all cultures) of silencing women repeat itself. Singing and music are too joyful to be silenced. They are gifts from God.

I simply refute that a person has to dress or act or be silent in certain ways in order to help others control their sexual urges. If you cannot control yourself then remove and cover yourself up - don't ask me to.

Every time we try to enforce and legislate morality it goes wrong.

Sadly true. Every time we try to enforce and legislate morality, women end up being held responsible and being restriced. Strict gender segregation and dress codes do not benefit society, as is often claimed, they lead to serious violations of women's rights and to over-sexualized societies.

This whole discussion about women's voices is a good example of where this sort of thinking leads. It's scary because it is based on the assumption that human beings are animals who will have sex anywhere, at any time, with anyone, if they see (or hear!) something of the opposite gender they might find attractive.

So first, women are being told to cover their hair, since that is supposedly something that attracts men the most. Then they are being told to cover their bodies in a way that the shape of the figure can not be detected. Then they are being told they should cover their face, with preferably only one eye showing. Then comes the advice to better stay in the house and pray in the darkest corner of it. And if she needs to go out, she should crouch along the walls, not wear any perfume, not speak in public and make herself invisible as much as possible.

Which is exactly what some scholars are propagating. And the Salafis, of course.

But fact is -- men will always find something they find attractive in a woman, regardless of the degree of covering. And vice versa!

And those "in whose heart is a disease" can be excited by anything. There are foot fetischists -- does that mean I have to wear socks and shoes even when it's 40?C? There are paedophiles -- should we hide our children and not let them go anywhere, not even to closest family, because of that? There are men who get turned on by completely veiled women -- what about them? And so on ...

A man who gets sexually excited by a woman reciting the word of God (or praying alongside him) needs psychological help imho. Telling females they should not let their voices be heard can't be a solution.

Fact is, women and men can interact very well with each other, it does not automatically create "fitnah", as the scholars like to claim. It's about education, manners, heart, and brain. But if we teach people from childhood on that even looking at the other gender, let alone interacting with it freely, will inevitably lead to disaster, that people can not control themselves, they will never learn how to interact in an appropriate manner. Every situation will be loaded with tension and anxiety.

A typical example of that sort of thinking is this argument

hummmmm, you said many women you mean girls because women are something else which is probably an adult ones who might be married and if they are married and have fantasy about this guy, know that they cheats their husbands.

No person in their right mind goes out and cheats on their spouse because they see a singer they find sexy. With all respect, that is simply ridiculous.

I watched the Tarkan video half an hour ago. Do you think I am going to go out on the street now and drag some guy upstairs in order to have wild sex with him or what? Because that is essentially what you are saying.

saying that he is sexy makes you under that you have felt some fantasy . and makes you under cheating .

you watched Tarkan's video and you did find him sexy, so this lead us to the section of having some sexual attraction over him, if you're married, you have cheated your husband, if you're not, you did have a fantasy which can be measured as a guilt and God knows .

where does it say anywhere that finding someone attractive or sexy leads to having fantasy about them??
