Lol the man is basically saying the Arabs are blind followers. That?s quite racist. At least he says they should seek truth and learn from others and learn from the west. Though knowledge shouldn?t just be exclusive from the west, it?s not like all of western advancement is purely from western civilisation.

The examples he gives are silly it?s like ?brother did you ever read The Quran, these values are there? e.g. the freedom of rights, dignity, and development of knowledge.

He praises the west too much, his ideologies in wanting the arabs to gain knowledge, learn from others and develop is great but I don?t agree with his execution.

Really? I think he was a brave soul. I just wish there was another phrase than 'the West'. It makes things seem racist when we are only talking about ideology. Democracy, liberty, separation of church and state, trusting that God's word is more important than God's will, these ideas seem so normal to me and so prized. It is a culture clash and I hope the ideals survive into the culture's of tomorrow. There is no certainly that those values will survive, the price of freedom is vigilance.

Brave? maybe. i think all people want to see improvement in their country or origins.

his ideologies are islamic, it's not unheard of. even if you look at history of some muslims when they were ruling they weren't half bad, they even helped in today's civilisation.

sure it's a sad state of what they have become but i can imagine an arab listening to it and thinking he is bashing them. actually i showed it to a sunni brother and he said "this guy must be a shia, because so many shias hate arabs" but i just told him not to be so emotional and then he read beyond the insults. in ways he gives the impression that arabs are scum but obviously we assume he means well by basically saying opportunity is there, take it!

the way he words things makes it sound a lil rough or spiteful.. also "west" and "arab" are not all exclusive to nonmuslim vs muslim. so yes different terminologies should or could have been used but that's just my opinion.

Those values are our rights, people's tyranny/subjugation and other social injustices have taken it away to a certain extent but if we will for something, no reason why we can't get it or fight for it.

his underlying message of taking knowledge/good, applying etc is fine, i agree with that

Racist nonsense. They should see modern Arab philosophers.
