I am sure in this massive forum, this very topic would have been discussed and debated.. But I would like to bring it again to gain more knowledge in a wider angle ...
Function of Ear = Hearing
Function of Eyes = seeing
Any doubt? Hope No..
Function of Heart = Understanding.. Any doubt / concern?
But above clear verses manifestly expalains them..
I am someone who believes in verified science and not mere theories and indoctrination... Science is knowledge... I know so far science won't directly say that heart is responsible for understanding.. Is science yet to perceive it? But some still claim various things about heart which is not merely pumping blood..But, God has given more priority to Heart than brain when it comes to UNDERSTANDING a matter.. isn't He?
You may lie with brain but understand with heart?
Does quran talks the truth as it always or science still needs to develop?
Or science got it wrong while everyone now and ancient people knew heart is for understanding as well... Of course it pumps blood.. Not to deny..
Let's understand this topic with heart /brain...

If their hearts are sealed what's wrong with their brains? Can't they understand it with brain? Lol..
I would like good thoughts from you intelligent people...Don't go away from verified science and don't go away from quran either with your responses ..
Remember this heart is same for Jinn as well.. They also understand with heart..

Pls see other occurrences of word q-l-b and you would come to know that it means to examine an object in order to understand it fully. I translate it as 'intellect'. Heart is a derived meaning.

I have read all the verses and still I would repeat...there is nothing wrong with the intellect those whose hearts are sealed.. All those intelligent people who deny God has in fact intellect..Look at the above simple verse.. Just coz their eyes and ears are sealed and put a veil over the vision doesn't mean they can't hear or see physically.. They can and very well... Nothing wrong with their vision and hearing... Same with heart.. Though heart is sealed they understand everything with it... They are normal human and Jinn like you and me... But God says they won't understand since He sealed the heart... What they won't understand is the key? Is general things or God's truth they won't understand for guidance.... They see and hear but what they don't see and hear is God's message...
They are not deaf or blind or stupid who can't understand... They gave all the capacity... But deprived one thing.. Guidance... -

Please check islamawakened for various translations and lane's lexican for root د م غ. Unfortunately, this word is used only once so hard to find any comparative meaning. Would work more on it in order to confirm the meaning.
