This is based upon a hadeeth where Aishah is supposed to say that she was 6 when they got married and 9 when they consumated the marriage. There are also sayings about one of the narrators, that he wasn't trustworthy, because of bad memory at old age, and he apparently narrated that hadeeth at old age. So it's just heresay with no proof really.

Narrated AishaThe Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became Allright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's Blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age.

Narrated Hisham's fatherKhadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old.

The stories about Aisha's age and Muhammad originates from the enemies of Prophet Muhammad, who fabricated ALLURING HADITH (See 6112-114).

In certain native tribes of the Americas, a boy of 8 was stripped to his birthday suit and sent to attack a buffalo and kill it with a bone knife. If he succeeded, he was then a man. Betrothal and marriage at a very early age, even among family, was common in Pharaonic aristocratic circles. Everyone lived in tents or stone fortresses. Even today, in the bush and in the desert, people grow up very fast.
My point is not to justify the story, on any level, but rather to point out the fact that to try and compare ancient customs to modern, urbanized life with words like "incest" or "pedophilia" is a bit half-baked, I think.

I have read de article by Shanavas and the one in Tolue elislam. No doubt they are right. With differente material and means they arrive more or less at the same conclusion Aixa was between seventeen and 19 years of age.
Other than that, seeing hrough a large number of hadith and how they differ in dates by large numbers on any question, I think that to bet on any hadith to come up with a date for something is sort of blind faith. A lot of checking many hadithes must be done to come up with something that make sense.
Like the age of Fatime at the time of her death or of her marriage there differences, about anything there differeces. So to go out from any single narration to conlcude a date with certainly is reckless.

Does this provide you with any certainty? It only gives you a most probable result. God does not say "there most probably was an Abraham according to the opinions of so and so".

Also, you can respond with the priests these days. Every day i see them on the news .... reports how they did ....years, decades ago.May God help us all.
