The Meccan Enemies of Prophet Muhammad

There are mentions of certain enemies of prophet Muhammad in Mecca, who were for one reason or another against his Islamic socio-religious revolution. The most prominent of them are namely Abu-Jahal and Abu-Lahab. Some also give great significance to Walid-bin-Mughira as an enemy, and also Abu-Sufyan who had later converted to Islam after the fall of Mecca. But here we just need to be concerned about the Meccan scene before the Medina Period on account of its simplicity. The Medina period is very complicated. I want to know the characters, the ideologies, the obsessions, the goals and ambitions and everything else about the enemies of prophet Muhammad, because this seems a sure way to know what the prophet stood for and why his enemies resisted him so bitterly in the Meccan period. People resist only the things they cannot digest, so that we may also know the right things to resist, and the good things to digest, especially in terms of their ideals and attributes. I would appreciate everyone with relevant information to kindly participate in this discussion.
