All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I've just ordered the 1st edition of The Message in hardback after searching for modern translations without distracting notes of explanation etc and hope it doesn't differ too much from the 2nd edition!
I think intelligent personal interpretation of the translation is the right way to go about reading the Qur'an & not to be misguided by someone's own explanations.
A lot of the Qur'an is quite clear but I've noticed in some parts you have to think deeper and make up your own mind what God is saying sun

            sallam,

make sure there is no perfect translation of Quran ( even this word should be mean as my thought as "mind" ) on face of the earth. word like 'Allah" (taken as lord where as word "RAB" fulfils all catagory if c chapter 1 verse # 2. word "Alhamdollillah" "alif" (A) is missing ), "Muhammed", "Quran", "Arabic" need futher examination 2 our new finding word "arabic" means "mother tounge" & word like "yahood" taken as "jews" by corrupt islamic religion makers whereas it should be "knowledge" ............ more later.

I believe I have the first edition (beige color says Quran a pure and literal translation monotheist group) anyways, I love it. I also have the Kindle version from Amazon. Probably the one I refer to the most.

                    salam brothers.
i would strongly state that it is up to Allah to show you of the Quran what is intended for you to see.
although i agree with explaining the quran with what is there in it ,nothing else.
i also support that it only be explained while we directly read it,
if it is a teacher then let it teach ,if we jump to make meaning of it then we dont need a quran ,code would of sent down a numbered code as was with teh old testament.
but with the quran it is different.
i think it is fine to think about it,but reading it and reflecting as we read is the major thing we are after.
dont forget that we do this in service of Allah, then all our out comes are nullified ,yes we might understand soemthing that is clear today but in the future it will have its disputes for changes in understanding happens.
remmember that the book is what will help us,refer to it.
and since this book is in arabic the quran is in arabic ,it surpasses the language in so many many ways.i do strongly suggest that we dont take things literaly from the quran,we need to follow as we read,
then we would go astray ,
only in reading it and reflecting on it,is there guidance.be aware that if we need to put down the meaning as logical numbered meanigs ,then ALLah would of done that already/
dont make the mistake of sunnis and shi3as.
they have left the book for some kind understanding, please there is more in this book then rules.dont miss understand it.
i dont like to explain it,dont try to explain it,just read and reflect.
                    that is all.
                    salam alaykum
i dont like to see this happen to you guys now or in the future.

So, what makes this any different than Edip Yuksel's release? I think his is very reliable.

                        Hello,

I just want to notice something confused me in Sura 53. Current translation below is far away from real meaning of the words.

                        Current

                        5314 At the ultimate point.
5315 Near it is the eternal Paradise.
5316 The whole place was overwhelmed.
5317 The eyes did not waver, nor go blind.
5318 He has seen from the great signs of his Lord.

                        Should be

5314 Near the tree of boundary.
5315 Near it is the garden of abode.
5316 When the tree was surrounded with what surrounded it,
5317 His eye turned not aside, nor did it wander.
5318 He saw the greatest of the signs of his Lord.

                        Peace..

                          peace Layth, all,

I noticed an error in 918

...It is these that will be of the guided ones.

                          Should be

Then perhaps these that will be of the guided ones.

Interestingly, this seemingly small error could have huge implications for Quranic understanding.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.
