    The ayah is 4/137.

I think if we're honest, all of us go through phase of faith and lack of it.

Thank you for providing the ayah.

Maybe everyone goes through the phases but for me it has been 2 years now, I think I am one of the ones whom Allah has placed "a seal on their hearts"

There are two types of people. One who believe in God or not out of desire. The other being those who believe in God or not out of intellect. Doubt that arises out of desire represents the seal on the hearts of men and such men are cursed by God. On the other hand doubt that arises out of intellect is nothing but the path to the one God. Despair not for your doubt will ultimately lead you to the true path.

Why to put the burden towards Allah?

I am not putting the blame towards Allah, what I meant was, maybe I questioned for too long/too much so now he realizes I am not worthy and put the seal like it says in the Quran.

Do you still want to follow the Quran? Do you pay attention when reading the Quran because you want to follow the honest to God meaning? Then no you don't have a seal.

Some months ago I remember reading a translation of a verse that said those who believe, then don't believe, then believe again are the worst of all people and cursed.
Does anyone know what I am talking about?
It is very terrifying to me as I am struggling in a similar manner but I don't mean to be evil or bad -then they increased in rejection; God was not to forgive them nor to guide them to the path.

What I see here is that such a person cannot decide, cannot make a decision and his/her heart cannot decide wheter to accept or reject. Such a person would have to really give it some heavy thought about this.

I know one other person who has a similar .... issue.
Patience is the best for such a problem but maybe - if you want - you could tell more about what is it that makes you reject and what makes you believe ....

Seek God for guidance and help.
                He Hears and Sees ALL.
                Glory be to God.
                Peace.

                  Hello Peace 2012

Don't worry, of course you are allowed to have doubt in your travel towards God. If you blindly followed and never doubted you would not find the path that is suited for you. I intepret the verse you mention as following; Do not reject or believe hastily, do not let one small setback make you reject, do not let one small step forward make you believe again. Be balanced, be thoughtful, do not change your mind which ever direction the wind blows.

This is my path to God Alone

                    Peace

I can't remember the verse citation but I read that one thing that may not be the worst, but is definitely up there (amongst the worst and most abominable things) is people who think they are doing good but are misguided/corrupted.

This is a very bad summary of the verse and I apologize for that, but does this ring a bell with anyone, does anyone know of a similar verse or the verse I may be referring to?

so what is belief? is it just believing an entity called God is existing, whats the use of it?

Believing is seeking God for knowledge and guidance to lead good life with good deeds, so to do good actions you need guidance/knowledge about what is good and bad.

That verse tells the signs how people will go away from God's guidance so that we understand and correct our wrong ways.

I consider this.. first we are doing something bad (out of ignorance), then God guides you(increases your knowledge) and you stop doing those, Again if you do the same bad deeds with the knowledge that its bad, then its natural you are going away from Guidance.
