The story of WAHHABISM and HOUSE OF SAUD goes way back before 1902.
They have made many rebellious attempt against the Turks in the past, and managed to destroy Karbala and massacre many shiites along the way.
See this

http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WahhabismIronically, people now see them as the 'ideal muslim state' and fueled with oil-money they spread their (full of hatred) beliefs worldwide..

On the positive side, at least Laurence of Arabia did manage to kick out the Ottomans. It's a shame the Imperialists stopped pan-Arab nation being created, and that the wahabis took power in Arabia, but anything is better than a sunni Caliph dominating the whole region.

Lawrence a british dude kicked out the whole army of turks?
Come on... get real... he's an 'agent', what he did were merely providing 'necessary intelligence, supply and support' to the Wahhabis Arabs to kick out the turks..And it's not the so-called 'imperialist' that stopped pan Arab nation being created.
It's the 'so-called Arab' themselves (although up until now they do not agree to be called as Arabs)
Given the spoil of war of a land area which was once under the Ottoman Turks, Nasser had his own agenda, the house of hashem had their own agenda, house of saud had their own agenda, the zionist had their own agenda, everybody else got their own agenda and the native palestinian got stuck in the middle..... up until now..Considering the circumstances, the 'dissolution' of this ambiguous 'pan arab' concept is for the better..

Very interesting. according to his accounts, King Faisal seems to be the best man to ever lead Saudi Arabia.. and some kings are just never meant to be king..

http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-ArabismHe stired up the Arab nationalism that booted out the Ottoman turks. The Imperialist turks ruled over a long term decline in the prosperity of the Arab world whilst European nations advanced and prospered. It was clearly a good thing that Arab countries became independent. But the european Imperial powers then waged war against the Arab independence movements and set them up against each other so they could keep them as colonies. It's a very common old tactic, divide and conquer.
We should remember that the Quran is very pro-nationalism - this must include Arab nationalism -
4913 "We created you from a male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another"
