Quranic Coincidences?

I came across a poster on here who quite sometime ago posted a verse which seemed to make me ponder
O you who believe, recall God's blessings upon you when a group desired to aggress againstyou, and He restrained their hands from you. And reverence God. And in God the believers should put their trust. 5-11
The poster pointed out the chapter and verse number and how it relates to a famous event Remember remember the 5th November (5-11) Guy Fawkes http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes.
I understand the verse is very generic and I understand some who will attribute it to Muhammeds lifetime but the Quran is for the past, present and future and unless its specific/context states so we would have to acknowledge the verses flexibility applying to all periods of time.
But the reason for this post is if anyone knows of any other verses that can apply to recent/post Muhammed events that have not already been posted i.e the smoke, the creature, splitting of moon, romans defeat etc.

175 So, when the promise of the first one comes to pass, We would send against you servants of Ours who are very powerful, thus they managed to breach your very homes, and this was a promise which has come to pass. 176 Then We gave back to you your independence from them, and We supplied you with wealth and sons, and We made you more influential.
177 If you do good, then it will be good for you, and if you do bad, then so be it. But when the promise of the second time comes, they will make your faces filled with sorrow and they will enter the Temple as they did the first time, and they will strike down all that was raised up.
178 Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you, and if you revert then will We will also revert. And We made Hell a gathering place for the rejecters.
179 This Qur'an guides to that which is more upright, and it gives glad tidings to the believers who do good works that they will have a bountiful reward.
1710 And for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have prepared for them a painful retribution.17104 And We said after him to the Children of Israel Dwell on the earth, then, when the time of the second promise comes, We will bring you all together as a mixed crowd.

I agree with flexibility but I'd also agree with pigeonholing stuff like Jack said.

Yeh V for Vendetta was a brilliant movie. My intention for the post was to see if there any similar implied subtle prophectic verses.
Yeh it maybe pigeonholing but I can't ignore the chapter and verse number and how the verse is talking about a scenario that is known maybe not worldwide but sure in the U.K and how relevant the verse is to that event. I just find it very intriguing but nevertheless it is an interpretation and I agree not a strong one.
But would be interested to hear from others(Alen) who have come across other prophetic verses.

In other verses it says Earth will be rendered essentially flat (as in a smooth spheroid), probably a much bigger thing than an ice age.

Could you please post the verses.....i always thought the earth would be spheroid for the Day of Judgement.
