    Assalamu alaikum.

Hi all. I'm just wondering whether this forum is connected to 'Quran reformist translation' in any way? Please excuse me if this is a really naive question (I'm new here lol).

Either way, is it a popular translation with members of the board? Or are there other translations which are popular?

    Thanks.

PS I have been reading it (Quran reformist translation) after downloading it off the web and I'm quite happy with what I've read so far.

Bro Layth was one of the co-authors of RQT, he is admin/owner of this site. He is a member of the forum.

It's perhaps impossible to say which translation is most used/popular here, but the free-minds.org one seems to be used regular, and also Muhammad Asad's.

Of course, all translations are imperfect and one must read and verify them using the brilliant Quran study tools now available www.StudyQuran.org

      Also see http//www.quran434.com/study-method.html

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Ok. Thanks Wakas. That is good to know re the Reformist version and I don't know the other one you mentioned but I'll keep a look out for it. I can see what you mean about ''perfection''.
        Peace

Salaams. I just found the list of books and Quran reformist translation is there among them. I didn't see that before obviously. Does 'The Message' Quran translation have anything do with Muhammad Asad, who you mentioned? . I see his book is called 'Message of Quran', something different again.

The Message for mobile looks amazing...I have an iphone...it would be wonderful to have an app for iphone of one of these translations that could be easily searched etc. I have made the Quran reformist translation into an epub and uploaded it to stanza on my phone but I must say it's not that easy to read or get around in that file.

InshAllah all these things will eventually be made available. A big thank you to the people who are working on all of these things - translations and mobile files etc. It's such great work. yay

            I use this website http//quranix.com/

It has QRT, the Message, Muhammad Asad, Khalifa, QXP and the Transliteration.

My favorite translation is Ahmed Ali's al-Quran A Contemporary Translation, however I find The Message the easiest to read.

Any time Rana, and remember to keep asking questions. To quote the great Dr. Gary Miller, "One's iman (faith) grows as one continues to check and confirm the truths contained in the Quran."

                  Salaam )

Someone on here recommended the site http//www.misconceptions-about-islam.com/ (I've tried to find the thread again with no luck)

I think it's a great idea for a couple of reasons. It's easy-peasy to use in that the issue you have you can just run down the list and click. Also misconceptions are one of the big problems right now when it comes to Islam.

Is the site run by someone on here? I suppose I sound a bit suspect asking all these questions, sorry. I just wanted to ask something if I know the owner is a member. Maybe they could pm me?

                  Thanks.

Salaam Wakas. Aha. Funny, I have looked at that post several times since in the last couple of weeks and wondered if it had to to with the site. But I couldn't find any proofs P ...maybe because I didn't read the whole 9 pages of comments
