        Salaam LawAbidingMonotheist,

Zakat means grow (in goodness) or 'increase', 'purifying' or 'making pure' it has nothing to do with the Christian tithe, a tax upon the poor that has built the churches and cathedrals throughout the world while the poor starve and suffer, the largest land owner on earth is the Roman Catholic church, and the biggest corporation.

I would advise anyone not to pay a single penny towards any religious building until, not one single human being was in need or want, all suffering and hardship from adversity was removed from the earth, and the true societal systems of the Qur?an were in place, of course then there would be no need of religious buildings.

If you introduce a tax, you subjugate yourself to an invasive system of accountability of your personal labours, for the scrutiny of others, in effect taking away personal choice of what you do with the fruits of your own labour, removing the privacy of your affairs, increasing the labour costs of all things within the community through the burden of taxation, no taxation of any sort is required, it is a trick of the hidden, their sophist logic.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Thanks Progressive1993 for those articles. These are certainly ideas worth consideration and I'll keep them in mind until certainty comes to me, God willing.
