Non Alcoholic wine and beer

What is your opinionon non-alcohlic wine and beer,I've never tasted it but the concept is wonderful,having a drink without getting drunk,we could have it before salat since we would not be intoxicated,has any member tried it? Most people I know say its haram because the prophet Muhammad(PBUH) says in a hadith that alcohol is haram in any quantity.I just want someone who is free-minded to analyze and reflect their thoughts on to me and since its not issued haram in the Quran,so why dont we all have a drinking contest! Sorry guys I'm new,on a serious note,what are your thoughts?

with all due Respect.If it's non-alcoholic, they why do they call it a beer or a wine?
I mean, we might as well call orange juice .... something else, let's say we call it whiskey?
Right?Beer is known beverage. It is alcoholic, some beers are light, some hard and they all have same goal.
Besides, it smells bad.Now.
You have so many good, healthy and nice-smelling beverages juices, milk, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, ....God bless you.

Where does it say, in The Quran, that alcohol is forbidden?

The messenger has no authority to forbid anything that God has not forbidden.
661 O prophet! Why do you prohibit what God has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? God is forgiving, compassionate.
6114 Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the book recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.

Non-alcoholic beer is a poorly named beverage, because it does contain some alcohol. Most brands of non-alcoholic beer are about .5% alcohol. This is significantly less alcohol than what is contained in alcoholic beer, which has an average alcohol percentage of 5%. Essentially, one would have to drink 10 non-alcoholic beers in order to obtain the same alcohol as that of a regular beer.
The reason non-alcoholic beer contains alcohol is because it starts its life as regular beer in most cases. The alcohol is removed after the brewing process has ended. This is accomplished through evaporation, which basically means cooking the beer until most of the alcohol is gone, then bottling the results.

I agree. Alchohol is not forbidden. Only the things which are forbidden in the Quran, are forbidden for us. But do you believe we can drink alchohol? As you know, poison is not forbidden in the Quran neither but that does not mean that people should drink it.

We are asked to use our faculties to make distict that which is evil and that which is good and make the right choice. We were given this gift by God so lets use it. Will drinking non-alcoholic drinks lead us into loosing our minds and causing trouble? Will it be harmful to us and the people around us? I am sure people will choose wisely ;D

Agreed. It's the intoxicating effect of alcohol one should be worried about. If a drink has a little alcohol but it's extremely unlikely that you'd get drunk from it, then what's the harm in drinking it?

Instead of telling you what is forbidden and what isn't (since I'm not perfect and may be wrong), I think it's best to read the verses in the link given by alalmakt and make up your own mind.
I've tasted non-alcoholic beer and it's horrible (it stinks too). A lot of my male relatives drink it and think it takes nice but I prefer a nice cup of tea

Non alcoholic beer or wine is good for people who cannot drink(pregnant women,sobering alcoholics,etc).What intrigues me is that it does not make you drunk,and say if you are at a wedding or an even where people are drinking,you wont feel a bit odd,and you wont make a complete fool out of yourself since it is scientifically impossible to get drunk on these kind of drinks.Also,coffee or red bull is good enough for me )

Personally I would never drink alcoholic drinks,or do drugs or smoke.
