    Salamun alaikum

Badr, I think we have to start off with what a 'science' is before you start labelling the method of collection and classification of the hadith collections as scientific (from Wikipedia - a reference you can check yourself)

Science (from the Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge&quot is an enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the natural world.

The phrase 'testable explanations' is quite possibly one of the most important there. Let's see

    1. Light is necessary for photosynthesis. Green plants photosynthesise. If you put a plant in the dark in the absence of sunlight, it will die when it uses up it's stores of glucose. You can test this yourself, but please don't harm too many plants when doing this.

    2. Ajwa dates are effective against poisons. I will supply you with both Ajwa dates and cyanide. Do you care to test this? If it works - then fine, I will accept that hadith science is correct on that hadith.

Your blanket statement about the other sciences in existence today as being false if we accuse 'hadith science' as being false is illogical and can be proven (I will wait for the test results in regards point 2 to the above) as false. The biology of photosynthesis can be proven and can be tested by anyone.

Also, the next most important point is that you don't need to have the science of biology under your belt to attain Salvation. You need to actuate the Quran into your life. If accepting or understanding the 'science' of hadiths were so important to our salvation then do you think that Allah Almighty would have left something so important to

    1. Blatant contradictions.
    2. Miriad illogical statements
    3. Poor language
    4. Fantastical explanations for things which can be proven within the realms of natural science. (i.e. earthquakes are caused by the bull who holds the earth between its horns, shaking its head).
    5. Contradictory and missing information.
    6. Accusations that the Quran is incomplete - which is saying that Allah Almighty is telling you a lie when he states that the Quran is fully detailed. (Yes, FULLY DETAILED - for YOUR salvation, not for how to build a car)

Which are all totally at odds with the pristine and EASY to understand message within the Quran.

Do you not think that the simplest explanation is the best rather than having a convoluted series of explanations?

    Peace
    d

So you are affirming that if the science has flaws it is not a science.

No, I'm affirming that if the science is not a science, then it's not a science.

Hadith classification is not a science. It's not even close, it is absolute conjecture. I highlight the point I made earlier when the hadith collector (e.g. Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud) says narrator x is "reliable", he is stating an opinion and is based purely on hearsay and conjecture. The vast majority of narrators whom they never met were given gradings based on what they've heard about them. These men were long dead. That's why you have sayings like "this hadith has been classified sahih by Ibn Hanbal" or "classed as hassan by Al-Albani". They need to mention the name of the muhadith because the classification is utterly subjective. You never hear someone say "this quran verse is considered authentic by x".

And you choose this "science" alongside quran?

I try to walk on footsteps of the prophet Muhammad PBUH, he was that kind of muslim, he was compassionate, generous, intelligent, peaceful, etc... I try to take him as Uswa as stated in the Quran.

The footsteps of the Prophet are mentioned in the quran. Agree?

If yes, what else do you need? If no, why does the quran say it is fully detailed?

I referr to what he could have done if he was in this or that situation and I deal with hadeeth with an open mind, that means I dont refute it totally nor accept it blindly,

The hadith cannot tell you what he could have done because the hadith are pure conjecture. They do not provide you with the vehicle to get back to the Prophet and observe his behaviour. This has been proven by your own scholars.

I referr also to those who studied it better than me without thinking they are corrupted or plotting, but that mistakes are a human attribute as none is perfect but Allah.

Even if those who studied it better than you are well aware of the flaws of the system but will not openly admit it? If you admit that Allah is perfect then so is Allah's recital. Why would you you leave the perfect recital and seek guidance or "detail" from a crippled and broken collection of hadith?

Yes, a small part of them.

"Mufassal" is not fully detailed otherwise what do you interpret as "fully detailed" in the quran ?

if it's mufassal ask our friend Wakas how his PRL entry interpret fa-sad-lam

Let's take salaat as example ; you want me to swallow that since the life of the prophet to nowerdays (or a few years ago) the 5 prayers and the way to pray have not been doubted untill comes you and your friends quranists to refute it ? you seriously mean that nobody since the death of the prophet including 1st generation of companions, 2nd generation of tabiuun, 3rd generation of muslims, 4th, 5th and so on have always prayed wrongly and no one of these muslims had the balls to refute it and correct the rest of them nor said this is not how you should do ? Come on ! The fact that it is worldwidely accepted for hundreds of years without a single doubt is a proof on itself.

          Salamun alaikum Badr,

The salaat issue is false, because from the recorded times of the hadiths - at least 200years after the death of Rasool Allah, the 'recorded' methods are likely to be 5 times a day. Just because the ruling classes have enforced their slavery on people doesn't make it right, nor does it make it what was prescribed...

          Peace

Are you sure you read the same book than all muslims ?

Sorry, I mixed them up, meant to say Quraish.

Yes, I am sure. Not all muslims but the ones here in my country, there is only one translation to my language and that translation is approved by the islamic institutes. Whenever I read it in english I am not sure about I cross-reference to the one in my language.

You seem very full of confidence that the major thing to know if you want to understand Allah is arabic. That reminds me of when the christian priests used to hold sermons in latin, the audience understanding nothing. You are showing a side which is not islamic, my brother. The way you write gives the reader a sense that you look down on the non-arabic speaking people, which is not right. I don't know where you come from, but if you do think it is that simple that it all boils down to the knowledge of a language you live in a place very far far away from the rest of us.

Here on Quran Alone you will find people who have been in prison, have a death warrant on them, have been soldiers in war, have been banned from their countries, have been harassed by friends and families..........All these people have gone through something that you seem not to have. They have been on the bottom and found God's way. They have seen the true meaning of the path. Do you really think that you will get any response but shut up when you tell these people "you don't understand because you don't speak arabic". Childish I tell you....Do you want to know how I found God? I used to be a soldier and during a mission we got lost. We walked for a few days non-stop, not sure how many. Anyways we didn't sleep and finally I was so tired I gave up. I just lied down and waited for death to come rescue me. I really really truly wanted to die, I saw no other option. You know what happened? A snake crawled up my trousers. All of a sudden I wasn't so keen on dying, and I don't know why, but that moment I started beleiving in God.....Many years later I met a muslim woman and she gave me a copy of the Quran. I read it and it made sense (NO it wasn't in arabic). It was crystal clear, absolutely nothing that made me disbelieve.......until hadith of course. Thank GOD I didn't stop searching, and thank God I found Quran Alone.

So you better be careful, little brother. You don't know what hell people have gone through before finding Allah.

                It is YOUR own affirmation.

Yes, it is not a science, it is conjecture. That is my affirmation because it is fact. You cannot refute this because in all likelihood you've never studied how hadith are classified. You've been continually told by your fellow sectarians that it is a thorough science, continually refined by generations of scholars. The reality is different, and you're yet to show me the scientific nature of hadith classification. You've had ample time.

Yes, a small part of them.

Thank you. The quran is clearly not enough for you.

"Mufassal" is not fully detailed otherwise what do you interpret as "fully detailed" in the quran ?

Yes, the quran is distinct and clear but also

The day We send to every nation a witness against them from themselves, and We have brought you as a witness against these. We have sent down to you the book as a clarification for all things, a guide, mercy and good tidings for those who have peacefully surrendered. 1689

Where else are you looking other than quran?

Let's take salaat as example ; you want me to swallow that since the life of the prophet to nowerdays (or a few years ago) the 5 prayers and the way to pray have not been doubted untill comes you and your friends quranists to refute it ?

This type of argument is a type of informal fallacy, namely argumentum ad numerum or appeal to authority. To quote Immortal Technique, "universal truth is not measured in mass appeal". If you would like to discuss things within the bounds of logic then I'm all ears.

you seriously mean that nobody since the death of the prophet including 1st generation of companions, 2nd generation of tabiuun, 3rd generation of muslims, 4th, 5th and so on have always prayed wrongly and no one of these muslims had the balls to refute it and correct the rest of them nor said this is not how you should do ? Come on ! The fact that it is worldwidely accepted for hundreds of years without a single doubt is a proof on itself.

You have no idea how the Prophet or the companions prayed because your using a broken collection of traditions. Worldwide acceptance is not proof, otherwise you should become a Christian. The requirements of salat can be found in quran, but you would actually have to want to follow the quran in the first place.

456 These are God's signs that We recite to you with truth. So, in which hadith, after God and His signs, do they acknowledge?

                  salam 3alaykum brothers and sisters.

There is no god, except Allah. I am a slave of God-Alone, but I can't say that I follow Qur'an alone now as I had before when I first joined this forum.

Indeed "Quran Alone" is a fallacy!

It was a very slow process for me to integrate sunnah into my deen, basically because it just turned me off. You know... being told you have to wash your ears three times and nostrils three times, wipe with this hand, eat with that hand, etc. etc. Stuff that has nothing to do with righteousness as defined by the Book of Allah.

Indeed those petty stuff HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RIGTEOUSNESS..

However, I started to recognize that there are two components to Islam and indeed to every religion. There is a textual component and a non-textual component. The non-textual component could be further broken down into oral tradition and non-oral (i.e. behavioral/physical) tradition. Tradition is as important as the Book, because it carries the barakah and authority. The present day Jewish religion is an example of a Book with a broken tradition, and you all can see how that has fared.

Indeed you're following the Jewish religion and their (fallacious) way of thinking...

Finally, I found an ayah to prove my case, and I invite others that know Arabic to comment.

"Have you not considered how the ones who argue about God's signs actually disregard them? (40.70) Those who reject the Book and anything We have sent along with our messengers shall know * when fetters as well as chains are placed around their necks. They will be hauled along * into scalding water; then they will be scorched in the Fire."

Clearly Allah (swt) is stating that more than just a Book was sent down to the messenger.

Indeed... Books is a dead thing which means nothing without WISDOM and INTELLIGENCE!

So I would ask any Qur'an-aloners out there, what could this other thing be? And why aren't you following it?

The 'other things' are two things WISDOM AND INTELLIGENCE
And by God's will, I will always strive to sharpen my INTELLIGENCE through CRITICAL THINKING and enhance my WISDOM through UNDERSTANDING MATTERS AT HAND THROUGH DIFFERENT VIEWS.

While HADITHS are just RUMORS which should be treated just like other TRASHY RUMORS, throw it to the trash bin!

                  Salam / Peace

He wasnt speaking Quraish and you can't learn Quraish neither.

Yes, I am sure. Not all muslims but the ones here in my country, there is only one translation to my language and that translation is approved by the islamic institutes. Whenever I read it in english I am not sure about I cross-reference to the one in my language.

1-not knowing (I did not said not learning) the language of the Quran and the one of the prophet is a huuuuge mistake.

2-If you want to understand the exact meaning without a shadow of doubt, you better learn arabic as like stated previously all translated version are biased, alot of words have not an exact equivalent in other languages but an approximative one. And as we are discussing the meaning of some of them, you better return to the origin, the source, for a full understanding. Many converts study arabic, see Yusuf Estes http//muxlim.com/videos/muslim_dz/conversion-story-of-sheikh-yusuf-estes/ (it is also funny)

3-I don't look down to non-arabic speaking people, how could I ? I know you are doing your best to decypher the wisdom behind the book and I really respect that, I just think you are looking to one side of the coin. Also the prophet said "there is no difference between Arabs and non-Arabs except with taqwa (righteousness)". So if I sounded like looking down I apologies sincerely.

Here on Quran Alone you will find people who have been in prison, have a death warrant on them, have been soldiers in war, have been banned from their countries, have been harassed by friends and families..........All these people have gone through something that you seem not to have. OK, but you don't know nothing about me and I could have been through alot of hell too but you assume I was born with a golden spoon in the mouth. I wasnt but it is not as interesting as your story.

Do you want to know how I found God? I used to be a soldier and during a mission we got lost. We walked for a few days non-stop, not sure how many. "Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran-- that you may understand." (122)

"And thus have We revealed it, a true judgment in Arabic, and if you follow their low desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you shall not have against Allah any guardian or a protector." (1337)

"And thus have We sent it down an Arabic Quran, and have distinctly set forth therein of threats that they may guard (against evil) or that it may produce a reminder for them. "

"An Arabic Quran without any crookedness, that they may guard (against evil). "

"A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know "

"And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire. "

"And before it the Book of Musa was a guide and a mercy and this is a Book verifying (it) in the Arabic language that it may warn those who are unjust and as good news for the doers of good. "

                      I agree.

May Allah guide us all towards the Truth.

All positions of Salat are found in the Qur?an

                          Standing position same

?Then the angels called to him as he stood praying in the sanctuary That Allah gives you the good news of Yahya verifying a Word from Allah, and honourable and chaste and a prophet from among the good ones.?

                          Qur?an 339

?What! he who is obedient during hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, takes care of the hereafter and hopes for the mercy of his Lord! Say Are those who know and those who do not know alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful.?

                          Qur?an 399

                          Bowing and prostration positions same

?And keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and bow down with those who bow down.?

                          Qur?an 243

?O Marium! keep to obedience to your Lord and humble yourself, and bow down with those who bow.?

                          Qur?an 343

?They who turn (to Allah), who serve (Him), who praise (Him), who fast, who bow down, who prostrate themselves, who enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and who keep the limits of Allah; and give good news to the believers.?

                          Qur?an 9112

                          The order is indicated same

?And when We assigned to Ibrahim the place of the House, saying Do not associate with Me aught, and purify My House for those who make the circuit and stand (to pray) and bow (ruku) and prostrate themselves.?

                          Qur?an 2226

We know that the above refers to prayer since the ?alternative? salaat is presented here

?And their prayer before the House is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands; taste then the chastisement, for you disbelieved.?

                          Qur?an 835

The placement of the hands on the knees whilst bowing is natural if one bows low enough. One should prostrate with the forehead touching the ground same

??you will see them bowing down, prostrating themselves, seeking grace from Allah and pleasure; their marks are in their faces because of the effect of prostration.?

                          Qur?an 4829

                          LENGTH OF PRAYER

There must be at least two prostrations as implied in 4102 same

?And when you are among them and keep up the prayer for them, let a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you.?

It is known from the Qur?an 4101 that prayer can be shortened in the case of an enemy being nearby and hence the shortest prayer includes one prostration.

Some will say that the shortening involves length and not the rak?at number. However this is vague and not in keeping with the Qur?an

?Surely your Lord knows that you stand nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran.?

                          7320

There is no specific length for one unit (contrary to tradition) and therefore the shortening of salaat refers to units. See this ayah

?Not all of them are alike Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right) They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.?

                          Qur?an 3113

                          WHAT TO RECITE

?And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord, there is none who can alter His words; and you shall not find any refuge besides Him.?

                          Qur?an 1827

?Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer; surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do.?

                          Qur?an 2945

?Not all of them are alike Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right) They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.?

                          Qur?an 3113

                          TONE

?Say Call upon Allah or call upon, the Beneficent Allah; whichever you call upon, He has the best names; and do not utter your prayer with a very raised voice nor be silent with regard to it, and seek a way between these.?

                          Qur?an 17110

                          WORDS

?So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan.? same

                          Qur?an 1698

                          (Personally I recite Sura 114, An-Nas).

                          Al-Fatiha

?And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran.? same the prophet said theres no prayer without al fatiha

                          Qur?an 1587

Recite as many ayat as is easy (7320). same ma tayassara min al quran

WHAT TO RECITE WHILST BOWING AND PROSTRATING (SUGGESTIONS)

                          BOWING

?And say (All) praise is due to Allah, Who has not taken a son and Who has not a partner in the kingdom, and Who has not a helper to save Him from disgrace; and proclaim His greatness magnifying (Him).?

                          Qur?an 17111

(Note ?proclaim His greatness? implies reciting ?Allahu Akbar?).

?Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.? same subhan rabbi al Adheem

                          Qur?an 5696

                          PROSTRATING

(There are two prostrations per unit)

                          First prostration

?Say Believe in it or believe not; surely those who are given the knowledge before it fall down on their faces, making obeisance when it is recited to them.?

                          Qur?an 17107

?Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High.? same subhan rabbi al a'ala

                          Qur?an 871

                          Second prostration

?And they say Glory be to our Lord! most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled. And they fall down on their faces weeping, and it adds to their humility.?

                          Qur?an 17108-109

?And glorify Him in the night and after prostrations.?

                          Qur?an 5040

The Shahada should be recited before or after (for me it is after) prayer sunni = in the middle (after the tahiyats and taslim and before the duaa)

?And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped.?

                          Qur?an 3954

                          The Shahada is

?I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I submit to the Lord of the Universe.?

                          This comes from

?Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge, maintaining His creation with justice; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.?

                          Qur?an 318

?But if they dispute with you, say I have submitted myself entirely to Allah and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and Allah sees the servants.?

                          Qur?an 320

?Say I am forbidden to serve those whom you call upon besides Allah when clear arguments have come to me from my Lord, and I am commanded that I should submit to the Lord of the worlds.?

                          Qur?an 4066

To simply declare ?There is no god but God? is incomplete since even Iblis acknowledges this.

Sunni = taslim in the end

                          Khuda hafiz

As mentioned it is similar without mentioning someone besides Allah (swt).

So you think that if we mention Muhammad in the shahada, we worship beigns beside Allah (like the christians for example) ?

That we have entered in the shirq (by associating someone to Allah) and that we will stay in jahannam eternally (as shirq = jahannam forever) ?

                                Salaam brother,

As mentioned it is similar without mentioning someone besides Allah (swt).

                                No! It is not similar...

You are looking into AlQuraan for the way of Salaat you have been taught from your father/forefathers.

Instead, you need to look the way of Salaat how Allah wants from us.

                                For example

If my father goto a grave every Thursday and recite something by standing there.

AlQuraan support this also in 984

                                984
984 And do not make the contact prayer for any of them who have died, nor stand at their grave. They have rejected God and His messenger and died while they were wicked.

This means I am look for in AlQuraan what I want, instead I have to look for in AlQuraan what Allah want from us.

We cannot please Allah by doing something that we feel it is good. But to please Allah, we have to search from AlQuraan and do what Allah wants from us.

Hope you got my point, inshaAllah.

May Allah guide us all towards the Truth.

                                  Hmmm... Iblis also acknowledge

                                  848

But when the two forces came together, he turned back on his heels and he said I am innocent from you! I see what you do not see. I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in punishment.

See how you are a bunch of activists like the 1st poster said, you are also in contradiction amongst yourselves ; you first claims that anyone have to pray the way he wants then you want to make him pray according to your own understandings. Pathetic !

Now who is telling whom to pray their particular way? The purpose of prayer is not a ritualistic set of words and/or motions. It is a remembrance.

                                      About shirq

                                      Tashahhud

You say "Peace be upon the Prophet...etc."

                                      The Qur'an says

"Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds;"

                                      Qur'an 6162

"Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance."

                                      Qur'an 2014

Now if you do not want to say that by performing 5 rituals as per the Sunni standards you are not dedicating at least a part of the prayer and its purpose to a human being, then you are free to. I am not telling you how to make salaat anymore than I can say who is more rightly-guided. I only follow the Word of Allah (swt) which is our complete guide to salvation.

See how you are a bunch of activists like the 1st poster said, you are also in contradiction amongst yourselves ; you first claims that anyone have to pray the way he wants then you want to make him pray according to your own understandings. Pathetic !

Helloooo!!! When did I claim that anyone have to pray the way he wants?

Nor I did say that everybody has to pray in the way I do?

You are fail again to search for errors in our posts instead of looking for the message in it.

                                          Peace.

Badr, did prophet/messenger Muhammad follow The Qur'an
                                          or
did he follow The Qur'an, sunnah and hadeeth of Ibraheem?

Because the way I see it - and I see it - he followed Creed of Ibraheem Islam.
Therefore, we follow Creed of Ibraheem, just like prophet/messenger Muhammad.
                                          Simple.

                                          P.S.
Also, narrated by ONE MAN. I hope you remember 2282.

This hadeeth is SAHIH HADEETH from Bukhary
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar Once the Prophet led us in the 'Isha' prayer during the last days of his life and after finishing it (the prayer) (with Taslim) he said "Do you realize (the importance of) this night?" Nobody present on the surface of the Earth tonight will be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night." (Book #3, Hadith #116)

Remember The Qur'an, what it says in 2282?
2282 O you who believe, if you borrow for a future period, then you shall record it. And let a scribe of justice record it for you; and let not the scribe refuse to record as God has taught him. Let him record and let the person who is borrowing dictate to him, and let him be aware of God, and let him not reduce from it anything. If the one who is borrowing is immature or weak or he cannot dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate with justice; and bring two witnesses from among your men; if there are not two men, then a man and two women from whom you will accept their testimony, so that if one of them becomes blindsided, then the one can remind the other. And let the witnesses not refuse to come if they are called. And do not fail to record it no matter how small or large until its maturity. That is more just with God and better for the testimony, and better that you do not have doubts; except if it is a trade to be done on the spot between you, then there is no sin upon you if you do not record it. And have evidence if you trade. No scribe shall be harmed nor any witness; for if you do so then it is a wickedness on your part, and be aware of God and God teaches you and God is aware of all things.

                                          Peace.
