I gotta say I'm disappointed in the quality of the recent content. These exercises in "my religion is better than yours" have become blinding and cluttering. Not only are the posts as long as books, but the venomous nature of the rhetoric is infecting all the threads.
I kindly ask everyone, including myself, to think a bit before getting pulled into fruitless circular debates. Think about the purpose of your words, and the effects they may have on passersby. Remember that with knowledge comes responsibilty, and that each word you post can be the one word that effects somebody negatively, hence, setting off more negative energy into this world.
In particular, this Apple Pie character has succeeded in dragging everyone down to his level. He's come in here from day one with no respect for our beliefs. He is a bitter, unhappy person who has a clear distaste for Islam, in any shape or form.
But he is not an ambassador of the Christian faith.
Bashing the books he claims to represent only taints our forum. Nothing good can come out of it. And going tit-for-tat with his "powerful exegesis" only plays into his hands, as I'm sure he's got hundreds of these exegesis' piled up on his hard drive, ready for copy-and-paste. If he doesn't, then I find it frightening that a person would have that much negative energy bottled up. Think about it.He's not a missionary, he's an antagonist.

It's uncanny but I got the same feeling today. I saw a long post from Apple Pie and realised that it was best to just pass it by so I refrained from posting.
Not only does it look like there's more to come, but this person seems insincere and unwilling to examine things objectively. Rather than that, they have already found the truth with a triple layer of insulation made of one part rehearsed lines, one part hypocrisy, and one big part of arrogance.
I agree that we should avoid the purposefully mischeivous posts, and point them out whenever we see them to save us from the type of 'ugliness' that we both seem to have noticed.

Thanks for the heads up... I don't usually bother reading the 'book-long' posts anymore, especially when it's written by a dessert. Anyway, if you don't mind, tell me if he breaks any one of the forum rules... and he'll be outta here quicker than you can say "a-la-mode". wink

Hello All,
It is sad to see articles which says to you "my religion is better than yours". People who submit these kind of articles have a very tribal mindset. It is hard to debate with these kind of individuals.
But I believe that we should keep with the ethos of "Free-Minds" and not prevent them from coming to the forum but rather not engage them ourselves in circular debates...

However, as you can clearly see for yourselves, the only dragging-down has been performed by your fellow Muslim ?cathedral?, who apparently does not know how to control her emotions.

I've met truth-seekers in my life, and you don't fit the bill. Truth-seekers have an aura of humilty, of understanding, and most important, of tolerance. You've exhibited no such qualities. You did not come here here to strengthen your understand. You come to preach, and ridicule, and anyone who disagrees with your powerful exegesis' is immediately deemed inadequate.
You've never taken back a statement and you've never agreed with someone who has disagreed with you.

She is simply taking advantage of the good nature of people here. Let her just hurry up and say what it is she has to say then hopefully she can make her way to other places.
