There are very few Christians in Turkey. In Egypt and Syria there are millions. The truth is that Christians are much better off in some other Muslim countries. If I were a Christian, I would definitely prefer to live in Iran than in Turkey. Also, it's a fact that ethnic and linguistic minorities are better off in Iran than in Turkey. Very few Turks seem to know this.

I don't know about your experiences but I can only talk about mine. For the past 30 years or so I have been visiting Turkey I have not seen anything to give me the impression that minorities have a hard time. My family is a minority there as they are arab rooted Turks. They first learned arabic before they went to school to learn Turkish besides them being born in turkey. They have not been in anyway treated differently. I can accept that you may see isolated racism but that probably happens in any country, it is not exclusive to Turkey. As for Iran being a better place to reside in, mate what are you on? Have you seen the scenes there recently? Anyways, your opinion is your opinion but let me tell you that Turkey is probably the only muslim majority country that has a big population of jewish people living there, does that say anything to you?
Peace

Just don't travel to Turkey, scared i heard they ask you about your belief system right at the border/customs.
I wanted to visit Turkey because of my ancestors but now think ....i'm not so sure, no way maybe later when i develope some muscles. muscle God willing. hailWTF?
You gotta be kidding! Do you know how many tourists Turkey attracts from Europe ? Do you think that we ask them their religion at the border? What kinda BS is this? Turkey is a liberal country where you can see women with mini skirts as well as wearing hijab.
Don't spread this BS and make everyone laugh at you.

Well said. You would think that going to Turkey is dangerous. May I add that a big proportion of Turkey's wealth comes from tourism. You have many religious groups in Turkey living side by side who are free to travel anywhere in the world. From what I have been told Jews in Iran can not travel to or have contact with Isreal. Finally you are by no means asked your religious status by turkish boarder men.

Yasar Nuri Ozturk, it's great.
So I finally was going to buy his translation since Tulumba had it in stock, but once my husband heard his name he was like 'no no no that guy is crazy, saying that you only have to pray 3x a day, etc'.... so, I guess it's better that I didn't go ahead and spend the almost $40 on it if he would probably just throw it away.

You mean I shouldn't push it? If that's what you're saying, then I agree. I can't force him to see anything more than what he wants to see.
Both ways aynur. He should not try to change you or you him. Without the will of Allah no one could change anyone.
3923 God has sent down the best narrative, a Book that is similar with
two paths. The skins of those who are concerned towards their
Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to
the remembrance of God. Such is the guidance of God; He guides
with it whoever He wills. And for whoever God misguides, then
none can guide him. -
