salaat ul fajr

Peace
I'm not a morning person so I find it hard to focus. I like to read at night as I can focus better and take it all in.
So I don't understand why we are told to do the reading at dawn when not all people are the same; some focus better in the morning and some concentrate better at night. -
Yes i have experienced a few days when i read stuff (not limited to AQ) fresh after wake up, wash, water, deep breath etc, and when your mind is awake, dawn is really the best time (preferrably without the noises from the mighty minarets at all!), and usually i'd have a very good morning life afterward, but unfortunately i haven't been doing that lately.. and tbh i kind of missed it / Ah.. ideal vs reality... You're right though, 'why not?' indeed
I think the key is in the good air, darkness, total silence, and most of all, a fresh and awake mind (though if you have visual access to a clean sky and a nice landscape, the sunrise setting elevates the sensations a lot). But if you can find those qualities/luxuries at other times, i think you can call it 'your personal dawn/Alfajr'.

Salam,
I have been holding 3 Salat (ritual) times for a couple of weeks now to coincide with the fast.
Fajr was a nigtmare to get myself out of bed at 540am, but after the first couple of times it became easier.
I like the feeling of having God on my mind most of the day and night as a result.

Is fajr nighttime or daytime? because in the quran it is mentioned before the rising of the sun, therefore even when the sun first appear, it's still fajr, same apply to isga in the opposite way
is it fasting month ? when does it start and when does it end , I learned that according to the quran, ramadan is winter time, don't know how true , thank youI do fajr sometimes but always daytime, before the rising.
-
Salam,
Fajr is in daytime (edge of the day) which begins at first light.
Isha, is a part of the night.
Fasting is for "ayam ma3doodat" - "a limited number of days", which is 10 days during the month of Ramadhan.
I don't know if isha is part of the night because it comes from the word ashy , can someone eexplain what does the word ahy and isha mean regrdless of salat time
can u please be clear about "ayam ma3doodat" 10 days ? , does it mean we have to fast only 10 days out of 30 ? or ramadan is 10 days ? i'm getting too confused lately, i change my mind about ideas every day. I'm not stable in my opinions except 2 times daily salat. I keep reading comments and opinions and still my mind is accepting 2 salats.

Actually, its the other way round. "Ishy" comes from "Isha" and means th early part of evening when "Isha" is just about approaching.

We have to fast only 10 days in the month of Ramadhan.
Fasting has been decreed for us in 2184 as "ayam madoodat" (a few number of days). Later on in 2185, we are told that we are to "complete the count" (litukmilu al3ida). In 2196, we are the given the defnition of "a complete count" when God tells us that 10 makes a "complete count".
Therefore, the "few number of days" is "ten".

1778
The word used is "Quraan" , that simply means "Reading" as in 7517-18.
As 1778 is about Salaat, it could mean that "Read Salaat at AlFajr" as
2238
2238 Maintain the contact prayers; and the middle contact prayer; and stand for Allah dutifully. When to STAND? We take it in Salaat cause the aayat is about Salaat, then why not in 1778?
The reason I take it as "Read Salaat at AlFajr" is "AlFajr" is the time of Salaat as per 2458. How could Allah ask us to do two different things at a time?
May Allah guide us all towards the Truth and correct us if we are wrong pr

As this is not the concern thread, I have started a new one on "Ayyamam maadudaat" and interested in further discussion about it.

Hold the salaat at the zenith of the sun, until the darkening of the night; and the reading at dawn; the reading at dawn is witnessed.
1778There has been alot of discussion about this topic. But what I would like to know is how many actually wake up in the morning to read and study the great reading.
If you do, what are your experiences and how do you go about it?
If you don't, why not?P.S. to make sure there's no misunderstanding, by "salaat" I DON'T mean "ritual prayer".
Abdelilah
salam abdelillah & all,
for a start this is my personal (by personal i mean i am not asking anyone to follow) understanding of 1778;
- Concern yourself with the relationship/communion when the sun is setting until the night is dark, and also the things to ponder of the beginning/initial stage. Verily the things to ponder of the initial stage is to be observed.
please note that the relationship in this verse is specific, i.e. with God. and since alqur-an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad in stages, the things to ponder (alqur-an) of the beginning stage (since they contain the basic ideas or principles of having God) must be put into perspective, understood, acknowledged and acted upon.
'alfajr' may also mean 'beginning', or 'start'. so for me 'salata alfajr' is 'the relationship of beginning/start' or 'the beginning/initial salat' or 'the relationship' we must establish with God 'at the start of our day'. for me, it is the time of waking up. so, the first thing to do on waking up from sleep for me is not to get up from bed or go to the washroom, but to establish the relationship with God & remember God - to thank Him for His 'rahma', the dependence on Him, the prayer for being correctly guided, and so forth. only after that, i'll have a wash up and meditate (the ending of thought?) for a short while.
then at about the time to sleep, i'll have a wash up and establish the relationship with God again - to thank Him for His 'rahma' during our period of the waking up state. then meditate (the ending of thought?) for a longer while.
and this two instances of waking up and going to sleep can be at any part of the day (morning, afternoon, or evening).
there are appointed times for 'salat' according to the day (daytime & nighttime), i.e. the two edges of the daytime (early morning or daybreak, and early afternoon or when the sun begins to decline), and at sundown until the darkness of night.
and we are also commanded, at some parts of the night, to put the things to ponder in a proper perspective (rattili alqur-ana tarteelan), or in other words, we reflect upon the guidance we have before us (at the time of Prophet Muhammad, it was the message he progressively received, but in our time it is alqur-an and also the progressive stages of explanations we received from God). perhaps one may even take this opportunity to ask God, on how he has been acting (rightly or wrongly) during the day. but don't be surprised when God shows them!
so in summary, 'salat' is for me;
a. 2 times during the waking up state, i.e. time of waking up and time of going to sleep.
b. 3 times during the whole day, i.e. sunrise, early afternoon & sundown until dark.when we do this, we may (will) soon discover how close God is to us, or how listening is He to us. He may (will) correctly guide us. we may (will) be cautioned when we are about to think bad of something, or about to do say or do something wrong. insha-Allah. and of course He may (will) guide us to obtain the correct understanding of alqur-an (correct according to Him, not us with feeble minds), provided if we ask.
as usual, this is only my personal practice based on my personal comprehension, and i never ask anyone to follow them. since abdelillah has asked, here i relate my practice. it works for me, and maybe it may work for some of you. to doubt is even preferable, but don't judge, please.
may God guide us correctly, insha-Allah.

"Fajr" (dawn) is part of both the day time and the night time. It is the period were the night is merged into the day. Isha (evening) is also part of both the daytime and the night time, but when the day is merged into the night. Thus, 1778 explains that isha salat is to be upheld from sunset to darkness of the night (notice darkness OF THE NIGHT), implying that the night has a light part as well, which is isha.
So, basically fajr is the darkest part of the day and the lightest part of the night, and isha is the lightest part of the night and the darkest part of the day.

yeah but Isha is a range of time right ? so when does it start really, at sun set, but is it before the sun sets or after ? i know it's time ends before the total darkness. opposite to fajr that starts when the first light of the day starts . the fajr time also, does it end when the sun appear or when it goes up ?

Isha starts when the sun is below the horizon - at sun set. There is still light in the sky, but it is beginning to get dark. Note the "ghrb il shamsi" in 1778, which means rubbing of the sun (ie. sunset).
Fajr is dawn - it ends when you can see the sun at the horizon. So both salats are to be done when the sun is below the horizon, but when there is still some light in the sky.

therefore they are perfectly identical but opposite in the time of day.
Thank's , I agree with the two salats, specially now. convinced. early and late in the day -
