Serve Allah

Is serve Allah ,simply in a nut shell - serving humanity in the most efficient possible way,to benefit .
Can anyone think of anything additional one needs to do?
And who can say ,that is what is happening in the so called islamic countries,or those that arn't?

In a nutshell, I'd say serving Allah is threefold.
Taking care of and responsibility for onesself.
(physically, and mentally)
Taking care of and responsibility for one's people
(family, friends, + anyone else).
Tahing care of and responsibility for one's environment.
(nature and all that surrounds us)These three things, without discrimination or prejudice, with Allah in mind, defines Islam in a nutshell, in my humble opinion.

I agree ,we can split up the service to mankind
Butwe could say couldn't we-
1.If you don't take care of and responsibility of yourselves ,we won't be able to serve humanity very well can we?So isn't that part of it?
2.Taking care of and responsibility of one's people will also be aimed at them serving humanity if they are better.
3.Taking care of and responsibility of our environment so it in a way of benefit to mankind ,now and in the future is also serving mankind isn't it?But is there something other then serving humanity that you can think of?

Yes I agree, serving the God is serving the WHOLE of humanity as if they are one community. The God informs us that mankind ONCE was one community. Seperation is the rebellious tool of the desperate (iblis). If we view the creation as ONE, then we will make sure all parts of that "entity" are sustained.
I want to add that it goes past humanity, we must keep in mind animals and plants and all of creation.

I don't agree that taking care of onesself and taking care of nature can count as serving humanity. I mean, these two concepts may benefit humanity as a side effect, but not necessarily as the intended goal. The intended goal is what dictates the service, not the side effects.
But maybe we're just splitting hairs here.

Besides upon ourselves, our environment, or the people around us, how else can one serve?

To serve God means to serve The nature, the whole system. And we all creations are within this system. Taking care of the Humanity and our serrounding environment.

If your boss owns a car,then isn't looking after his car-keeping it mechanically okay or nice and clean serving your boss .So isn't looking after the environment also part of serving mankind.?

Not to me... just sounds like you're taking care of the car. Maybe if you used the car to do errands for your boss, then you're serving him.
Just my opinion on this particular analogy. )

A car is like the human body, our vehicle. Certainly we must take care of it.
