Is there a specific Verse prohibiting The Overthrow of an Oppressive Goverment ?

if Riba is not bribery/corruption, than how corruption is called in the quran ?
Zakat = fiscal system / Taxes
bayaa / = buy back, buy in, buy into, buy on credit, buying, buying up
in other words, investment .Riba = Bribery
Tijara = Trade
Read the verses, even phonetically, the arab word is identical with the english / frensh / spanish / italian
Interests is not mentioned in the quran, but it is mentioned to don't take advantage of those in need. so I am not sure if selling money is legal or illegal in the quran. but one thing is sure, Credit is allowed in the quran, and the writing of the credit is an obligation, so the return of the credit is up to the state , if it has interest or not.
It's good to push understanding of the quran but please refrain from taking it to the level of a fool
8301 - Woe to the defrauders,
8302 -Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully,
8303 - But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient.
8304 - Do not these think that they shall be raised again?Interest is the reason half the world is starving while the other half is obese, in a time when there is an abundance of everything.

I hear you , and I know that my understanding in the last months became a bit strange to many, and if I heard myslef saying what I say now 3 months ago, I would have fought against myself, but this is the way it is, and this is what i see and believe from all my heart that it is the truth, even though, I know that only the Lord knows who is on the truth and who is not, and I might progress and see myslef as a person who was wrong, just as I see myself as wrong in many things a few months ago.
we go by logic and open mind
if Riba = usuary , and defrauders are called Fraud , than how do we call corruption in the quran, corruption as buying voices in elections, or buying what doesn't belong to you , corruption in this sense
can you please help me in this, and tell me what is the word corruption in the quran, because corruption is very important for it is a main arm of Evil. thank you brother. -
Peace
Can someone please point me to the verse that specifically prohibit people from overthrowing a corrupt and oppressive government ?
Peace and Thank You

004.097 When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say "In what (plight) Were ye?" They reply "Weak and oppressed were we in the earth." They say "Was not the earth of God spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge! -
004.098 Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to direct their way.
004.099 For these, there is hope that God will forgive For God doth blot out (sins) and forgive again and again.
004.100 He who forsakes his home in the cause of God, finds in the earth Many a refuge, wide and spacious Should he die as a refugee from home for God and His Messenger, His reward becomes due and sure with God And God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Once again I am asking for a specific verse expressly prohibiting overthrow of corrupt and Oppressive Government. The verses you cited above do not even Impliedly do so. Read the verses in context. Remember, that Islam is all about justice, freedom of choice, fairness and equality for all people before Allah.

Are you asking for an example that says we should NOT overthrow oppressive governments or the oppossite? I read you wrong, my bad. The example I showed is about migrating from oppression. Overthrowing could be bloody and useless. Most here consider a Sunni theocracy oppressive. But would we overthrow what most Muslims accept? Plus it could be bloody and useless especially if you are a minority. As far as not overthrowing such governments that depends. There is no verse that says we should accept oppression like some hadiths do. But there are verses that caution against hastiness. But we are to fight to defend our faith.

Umm... honestly?
I would say that the entire Qur'an is a verse on overthrowing a corrupt and oppressive government. -
Salam and Peace, everyone!
Man has been sent in this world to strive for the Hereafter.
Whether he lives in a country where the believers are in power, or he lives in country where non-believers are in power.
Allah has not made it an issue.-----Nowhere in His Exalted Quran, Allah commands the believers to overthrow the oppressive government of the non-believers.There are many examples of different Messengers of Allah who were born in a country where non-believers were in power and running the government. But none of the Messengers ever started agitating struggle against the unjust rulers.
They simply did one thing. And that was, they called "the common people, the rulers and the elite class" to Allah's Deen.
When the unjust elite and the the cruel rulers denied, and oppressed the Messenger and his Sahaba, Allah annihilated them and saved the Messengers and the momineen. We have a clear-cut example of Moses.
He never initiated agitation, strike, long march, chaos, or guerillah fight against the oppressive government of Pharaoh.
Allah saved Moses and the momineen, and destroyed the oppressive government of Pharaoh.Allah never Willed agitation or waging a war against the unjust rulers.
Allah commanded His Messengers to invite the common people and the unjust rulers and unjust elite to His Deen.Living in a country, the Messengers were not allowed to create chaos. They were commanded to convey Allah's Message. Rest of the matters remained in Allah's control.
So, even if the government is oppressive, but it does not prevent the momineen from following Islam, then they are not allowed to react and create chaos on earth.
And if the oppressive government goes a step further, and prevent the momineen from following Islam, then again, they are not allowed to create chaos and overthrow the oppressive government.
They are then, commanded to emigrate.Peace!

The reason I started this thread was that somebody in The Bahrain Thread claimed that" The Qur'an prohibits 'The Overthrow of Government" and he further suggested that the people of that oppressive government should emigrate en-mass instead. So there you have it.

Yes, this is correct!

Salam and Peace on you!
I would like thoughts on 459. It seems to allow overthrowing/overruling those in authority...?
Also, what of 4238? Clearly against dictatorship/one man show, yes?
-----"O you who believe, obey Allah, and obey the messenger (Muhammad), and those who are in authority among you. Then if you have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if you are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more commendable in the end." (Al-Nisa-59)
The above Verse does not command to overthrow the government.
It simply commands to refer your dispute to Allah and the Messenger (means Al-Quran,-----that Allah sent, and the Messenger brought), to resolve the dispute between the rulers and people.==========================
Now, read the Verses from chapter Al-Shoora. Verses (38-44) give the complete understanding.
-----"And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish prayer, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel among them, and who spend of what We have provided them." (Al-Shoora-3
"And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves." (Al-Shoora-39)
In the above Verse (Al-Shoora-39) it is to defend themselves, and not overthrow the oppressive government.
Contemplate in one thing.
Who were the best people who followed the above Verse (Al-Shoora-39) to defend themselves, and how did they defend themselves?
Indeed, it is the Messengers of Allah in all times. They were oppressed and demanded to leave Allah's Message. But they defended themselves by standing firm on their Deen, and did not give way.
Like Moses (AS) against Pharaoh. Muhammad (SAW) against the leaders of Makkah. And many other Messengers and their Sahaba.
Moses (AS) did not overthrow Pharaoh.
Muhammad (SAW) did not overthrow the leaders of Makkah.
Finally, all the Messengers emigrated, but did not create chaos in the land. Now, a different situation is when there is an Islamic government. And if a person or group of people are oppressed, they will go to the court of Law for justice, and fight until justice is availed. They will not compromise.
-----"And the recompense for an evil is an evil one like it. Then whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, so his reward is due from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers." (Al-Shoora-40)
The above Verse is clear. If someone forgives the wrong-doers for the sake of reconciliation, he will be rewarded. Then Allah Himself will look into the matter of the wrongdoers.
-----"And whoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, then for such there is no way (of blame) against them." (Al-Shoora-41)
-----"The way (of blame) is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment." (Al-Shoora-42)
But if someone takes revenge after he has been oppressed, then he is not to be blamed.
To be blamed, are those who are the wrongdoers.Yet, further from here, in the coming Verse, the one who forgives has been admired. Because this is exactly what the Messengers and their Sahaba did (in Makkah against the Kuffaar).
-----"And whoever is patient and forgives. Indeed, that is of the affairs (requiring) courage." (Al-Shoora-43)
And if someone follows the Messengers and forgives, Allah declares that He will look into the matter Himself and punish the wrongdoers. (read below)
-----"And he whom Allah sends astray, then for him there is no protector after Him. And you (O Messenger) will see the wrong doers when they see the punishment, saying, is there any way of return." (Al-Shoora-44)
Momin is always patient and forgiving, and does not create chaos in the land, like the Messengers.

A non oppressive government doesn't exist on this planet.
When you're changing something by force you're bound to guard it and keep it by force.
Now here is the key issue.
If you want change a country then people have to change themselves.
it's a slow process.
