I am new here on the forum and i was wandering about slavery in Islam. I know that in the time that the AQ was reveled it was prety normal to have slaves and that it was normal in the muslim world until a couple of decades go, and it was in the muslim societies were words like hareem comes from. But as times changed it has became less of it and is now banished in even Saudi Arabia. If changes like that can come because of human develompent and how we view ourself, why can't the same thing be done for women's rights. Like equal inheritance.
What I am saying is that Islam is very dynamic, and since it descened upon the arabs, then a lot of it is concerning them and their way of living, so it is not neccesery to implement them, but to see them in a new light if that is possible.

Slavery is not only a crime, it is considered the cardinal crime, since it is SHIRK. Anyone who claims to be the Rab (master) of another person and calls that person as Abdi (my slave) that person commits the same crime as Pharoah did idolizing his ego and claiming partnership with God.
Unfortunately, many verses of the Quran have been distorted by the followers of hadith, sunna and sectarian dogmas. I recomment you you to look at Quran a Reformist Translation and its endontes for discussion and references, which is also available online at www.quranix.org
