I appreciate your work in high lighting the difference between the two roots, and i agree with you that they are not interchangeable.
Most of the translators have wrongly translated the two with the same meaning as death. A thoughtful study of both the words and their deliberate use at specific instances may reveal clues regarding after life.To add to your work following is my opinion,

"Moat" is a state when enough physical damage is caused to the processor (brain) that it is no longer able to load up the operating system (soul) or let it operate as per design.

The root "wow fa ya" or derivaties of basically convey a sense of "separation" or "segregation" which when used in connection with OS, can both be permanent or temporary.

"Moat" causes permanent separation of the OS, where as in sleep mode the OS is temporarily segregated, for firmware updates , uploading gathered data , downloading applications , memory sorting etc. 6-60, and 39-42- provide important clues to that.

6-60 And He is the One who takes you at night ( ) , and He knows what you have done during the day, then He sends you back to it until a fixed span; then to Him is your return and He will inform you of what you used to do.

39-42 God takes the souls(or separates the souls) when they die ( &#1575 and during their sleep ( ). He then keeps those that have been overtaken by death, and He sends the others until a predetermined time. In that are signs for a people who will think

But same is not true in case of 2-234, and 2-240, Here the reason is not indicated, rather "leaving behind" is stressed upon
