    Salam 'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I'm a newly converted muslima from Spain and actually I consider myself a sunni. But recently I started reading this website and many others and my doubts about hadith started to arise.

I would like to know what says EXACTLY the hadith about Allah showing his thigh to the Prophet on the day of judgement. I've read this statement on this site as well as here

    http//www.e-bacaan.com/artikeli_hadith.htm
    http//www.irfi.org/general/history_of_hadiths.htm

Can you tell me this data as well volume, book, number, compilation??

Thank u and may Allah blessed you all.

    Bslama.

      Peace Nur.

I believe this is what you are looking for

To prove His identity, God opened his legs and showed the
prophet His thigh. (Bukhary 97/24, 10/129 and the comment on the Sura 68.)

By the way, although realising the unauthenticity of hadith books through numerous examples helps, it would be better to base your belief on what the the quran says about hadith books, rather than the unreliability of hadith books. Please have a look at the following articles available here which I think may help

      http//www.free-minds.org/articles/gods_system/punch.htm
(A very good article which sums up the arguments concisely and accurately)

      http//www.free-minds.org/lose-arabic.htm
(Good food for thought, may increase open-mindedness)

      http//www.free-minds.org/articles/hadith/hadithmyth.htm
(An exposition of the history of hadith books)

      http//www.free-minds.org/books/journey.htm
(Please read the above articles first - this article is heavy with truths about the sunni-christian link, read this only to clear any minor doubts, but not for initial research, it may be found offensive otherwise)

May God give you all success in searching for and accepting the truth. Welcome to free-minds D

        Welcome nur,

By all means read the articles, and always keep in mind that these are views of people. Try and verify whatever you read. (1736/496)

I always liked this quote from one of the books...

"Do not read to contradict and refute,
nor to believe and take it for granted,
        but to weigh and consider.

        Peace.

          Salam 'alaikum,

Thank u for your reply. I had already that info, Bukhary 97/24, 10/129 and I suppose the first number is the Volume and the other the number of Hadith??

I download Sahih Bujari and Muslim quite a months ago and there is not volume number 97 because there're only 93 and when I look for 10/129 I read another hadith.

Probably you know a webpage where I can read this Hadith from there, the chain of narrators and if it is sahih, daif, etc.

Thanks for the articles, i've already read them although sometimes I don't agree.

          Have a nice day

          Nur
