Why so much attention about people's private sex life?

I'm sorry if this has been dealt with before, but I'm not convinced that God asks us to be "vigilant" about people's "illegal sex life style", and bring them down to court .. with judges.. witnesses and lawyers, media .. so forth and so on.. and then if found out to be guilty of "Zina" or not ( which am not convinced about its translation) and if they are then flog them publicly.
to which some people sex life would find that rather pleasurable as a punishment!I can imagine for practical reasons that a special day will be set and a dedicated place also.. with on-line booking and advertisement all around.. someone will be there selling refreshments and sandwiches...
I'm not joking..what am asking actually a practical question related to common sense
How do we go about and find out about whether two adults engaged in a consensual sex are married or not... ?
I believe that this is mainly indoors activity?
And why is it so important.. and not rape for example?By the way is rape mentioned in the Quran?

I believe the verse in question requires 4 witnesses to the act of sex being commited which would imply but not limited to it being a public act. In my understanding the sex before marriage punishment is in the afterlife and only punishment by society requires 4 people witnessing the act.
Also something to ponder with todays technology it's easy to witness acts of sex online which I believe the punishment would still stand as the principal of 4 witnesses remains the same.
Sex is a private thing and a form of deterrent is prescribed for those who wish to make it public.

And why is it so important..I don't see anything in the quran that says we should be investigating people's sex lives. So no, it's not that important - in the sense of a community activity. That's not to say being promiscuous isn't against quranic guidance.

Although rape is not mentioned explicitly, that doesn't mean the quran has remained silent on it. Please see 5/33 which is about mischief/corruption in the earth and prescribes a variety of punishments. Also 42/40 speaks about fair punishments for crimes.
I also have doubts regarding the traditional understanding of zina.

Zina is traditionally understood as sex outside wedlock. I'm not sure I agree with this definition, but at the same time I'm not sure what a better definition would be.
Zay-Nun-Ya = to mount, the mounting upon a thing, to commit fornication/adultery, fornicator/adulterer.
The meaning revolves around mounting something.
Some of my observations/questions regarding the zina verses of chapter 24
The entire punishment process is to destroy the zani's reputation i.e expose them as untrustworthy and dangerous. This is why believers must witness the punishment and never unite with them.
24/3 equates the zani with the mushrik in the clearest of terms. To me, this suggests the nature of their crimes are similar. They benefit from each other, or are inclined to the same things.
What benefit is achieved by public exposure of a fornicator? What do I do by knowing that x is a fornicator?

The term zina is described as an evil way. Does this suggest that zina is not just an act but a conduct in itself?
A person who finds out their spouse is unfaithful would not appreciate this fact being made public to the entire community. Imagine going to school the next day after your mother/father had been publicly lashed for getting caught sleeping around. What family could survive the humiliation?

but I think I wasn't able to clarify my point in a simple terms..My question is why Zina (adultery) is a crime? if it is Adultery!
Since The Quran states that the Adulterous will marry only Adulterous..! ( with this understanding)
Does that mean after finding out about an unrelated couple having an Adulterous relationship ( how?), and after they receive the public corporal punishment, will then they get married to each other?
wouldn't that destroy both people lives including those who depends on them.. the whole families ???I don't understand the wisdom behind this..!

indeed you're right in pointing out this.. I also would imagine that people will say .. this might be a good deterrent.
I don't think so..since in Saudi Arabia they still cutting hands off, and in the US capital punishment is still ON , and life imprisonment doesn't deter people from committing Crimes ..Sometimes I feel like we're trying to fit squares into circles ..
Or like the French say .. looking for noon at 200 PM..!
Quran only, means to me that we got to get totally out of what it has always been accepted as truth ( because this is what our forefathers did, or this is what the majority did ) ..
Zina cannot be logically speaking to mean fornication..it doesn't add up.. and it doesn't make sense..
Quran way of life has to be applicable anywhere and timeless, in this day an age.. just picture this Adultery punishment..
