    salam,

The article copied from a anti Islamic web site. All are requested to refute quoted verses.

The Koran on Itself ? clarity of the message and truthfulness.
22 (Hilali-Khan) This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt ?
Comment the ?no doubt? means both that there (must be) no doubt it is from Allah and no doubt that is is The Truth.

299 (SHAKIR) And certainly We have revealed to you clear communications ?
Comment The Koran claims to be ?clearly communicated?.

2185 (Malik) ?the Qur?an was revealed,a guidance for mankind with clear teachings?
Comment The Koran claims it has clear, or easily understood teachings. See also 515, 519, 4714, 4732, 6511

2187 (Malik) ?Thus Allah makes His revelations clear to mankind?
Comment Again Allah and the Koran are ?clear?, or simple to understand .See also 2219, 2221, 2230, 2242, 2266,

    589, 697, 698, 6126, 732, 1015, 1973,2418, 2434, 2458, 2459, 2461, 3443, 4525, 467, 579, 585
    2209 (Malik) ? after receiving the clear-cut message, ?
Comment the message of Islam is clear-cut, simple to understand. See also 519

2252 (Malik)These are the revelations of Allah; We recite them to you in truth. Surely you, (O Muhammad), are one of Our Messengers.
Comment This verse declares that the Koran is truth and Mohammed is Allah?s messenger. See also 548

4176 (Malik) ? Thus Allah makes His commandments clear to you.
Comment The commandments in the Koran are clear, unambiguous, easy to understand.

53 (Yousaf Ali) in part ?This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.
Comment Islam is the perfect, or ?perfected? religion according to the Koran. Thus it is inerrant and whatever it says must be taken as absolute truth.

111-2 (Malik) This Book, whose verses are perfected and issued in detail by the One Who is All-Wise, All-Aware, (teaches) that you should worship none but Allah ? indeed I am a warner and bearer of good news from Him to you.
Comment This verse states that the Koran is ?perfected? or ?made perfect? and is ?detailed?, which is why some Muslims believe that the Koran contains all the knowledge that they need. Note that the Koran is ?perfected? could be taken to imply that at one point the Koran was imperfect, but that the ?errors? have been corrected; cf ?Satanic verses?, by the doctrine of abrogation, see below.

121 (Malik) ? These are the verses of the Book that makes things clear.
Comment Here the Koran claims it is clear(ly) written. See also 181-2, 20113, 2216, 281
144 (Malik) We have not sent any Messenger except that he speaks the language of his own people, so that he could explain to them clearly.
Comment Mohammed makes it all plain and simple, he explains the Koran (in the Sunnah). See also 1635, 1644, 1664, 1682, 2454, 2918, 4144, 4329, 4413. Thus for complete ?clarity? the Ahadith etc is required to fully understand the message of Islam.
    Summary.

I know firsthand that the Islamophobes will do anything to be able to include ahadith as part of Islam.

I assume you do not wish me to refute the verses which state that the Qur'an is clear.

        144

144 says that the Messenger was sent with the language of his people so that he might make clear for them.

3346 says that the Messenger is a light-giving torch.

Thus the Messenger makes clear by delivering the light that is the Qur'an (7157, 2148, 3120, 4252).

We can use the word "explain" too. 144 would simply be saying that the Messenger explains things because the Qur'an is itself the explanation (2533). E.g. just because the Messenger judges (465), it does not mean Allah is not in fact the judge (6114). Just because the Messenger teaches the Book (622), it does not mean that Allah did not teach it (551-2). We must teach it too (379).

        1635

1635 says nothing is incumbent on the Messenger except a plain conveyance. A Sunni or an Islamophobe will take the word ?clear? to mean ?explanation via Sunna?.

Firstly, Allah revealed the Message via a Messenger He chose. The task of the Messenger is to convey the Message (599). It does not say ?clear? in that verse.

The means by which Allah instructs the Messenger to deliver the Message is by a proclamation (599) to all the people (2428, 427). The proclamation is not just to one person, and neither is it a whisper. It is not a case of ?Chinese Whispers? where one person tells another and then that person informs another.

Since Allah sent him as a conveyor to all the people, since he did not mumble, since it is in a language that people understood (144) and since the Book itself makes its message clear (2533), the proclamation is by default clear. Thus the job of the Messenger was certainly a clear delivery. The clarity was a part-and-parcel of the ?service? of Allah in sending the Message with the Messenger. If Allah had simply revealed the Book by burying it in the sand so that someone might eventually find it, the Message would not be delivered clearly.

The Messenger had to deliver, and his doing it made it a clear delivery.

Moreover, an explanation of the Book after it is delivered and a clear deliverance are not the same thing.

        (This response applies to 1682, 2454, 291

        4144

This refers to clarification by way of delivering it in a language that they understand. This is an example of the explanation above, where the Message is certainly delivered but certainly not clearly!

It relates back to 144 such that we should now understand that the ?clear delivery? refers to a delivery of the Message via a proclamation in a language that the people can understand.

        4329

Obviously this relates back to the fact that the Messenger is a light-giving torch (3346). See my response to 144.

This argument also applies to 4413.

        1644

        False assumption.

?And when Allah made a covenant with those who were given the Book You shall certainly make it known to men and you shall not hide it; but they cast it behind their backs and took a small price for it; so evil is that which they buy.?

        3187

The word for ?make it known? (make clear) is ?litubayyena?. This is similar to the word used for ?make clear? in 1644

?With clear arguments and scriptures; and We have revealed to you the Reminder that you may make clear to men what has been revealed to them, and that haply they may reflect.?

However, some scholars opted the irrelevant and alternate meaning for the word in 1644 by claiming that it means ?explain?. If the Qur?an is a clear Message explained by Allah (426, 7519), it is impossible for someone to claim that ayah 44 of Sura 16 instructs Muhammad to explain it. He was only a plain warner (7184). Usage of the word in 3187, 426, 519, and 144 indicate that the intended meaning is ?make clear?, not to explain.

?With clear arguments and scriptures; and We have revealed to you the Reminder that YOU may make clear to men what has been revealed to them, and that haply they may reflect.?

        1644

The Qur?an here is described as clear and thus does not need to be explained by Muhammad. His sole duty was to proclaim the Message (599, 1635). Moreover, why would Allah give the Messenger a Book so that he could explain the Book? Why not just give him the explanation without the Book? Obviously it means that the Messenger received the Revelation personally, and that HE would make it clear (?explain? the Message/point of the Qur?an) to people by proclaiming the Message (599). 1664 actually confirms that the Qur?an itself is the explanation.

Even if we want to use the word ?explain? in 1644, then it is just like the Messenger teaching the Book (622). Allah actually taught it (551-2), and in turn we are instructed to teach it to others (379). Likewise, if we judge by the Qur?an (54, we are taking Allah as judge (6114). The Messenger had no power to guide (1035, 2856), yet humans can still ?guide? on Allah?s behalf through the Qur?an (7181).

It is an identical principle with ?explaining the Revelation? in 1644/64. Allah explained it (7519) and He made it clear (2159). The Book itself makes things clear, and for this reason the Messenger also makes things clear (4413). 4414 confirms the ?explanation? as the Qur?an.

        The Book explains itself (426, 1039, 20114, 2533, 2784, 7519).

Remember that ?explain? is not a good term since Allah did not give Muhammad the Book so that he could simply explain the Book. Otherwise it would be saying that the Messenger could not explain the Book without the Book, in which case Allah would have simply given Muhammad the explanation of the Book to deliver (without the Qur?an).

We must accept the conclusion derived from 3187.

        1664

?And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that about which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.?

        1664

Now the Qur?an was obviously not revealed so that Muhammad could explain to people what they differed about in the Qur?an. Nor was it revealed so that Muhammad could explain it (the Qur?an)?rather the explanation would be revealed, and that is what the Qur?an is (2213, 12111, 2533, 2776, 7519 (clarification comes from Allah (SWT) into the studier?s mind (via a complete reading (1039, 20114, 2784)))).

        The Messenger was a light-giving torch (3346), and the Qur?an is the light (7157, 2148, 3120, 4252).

Likewise, the Qur?an makes clear about what people differ in (2213, 2776), and thus does the Messenger by delivering the Qur?an that was revealed to him.

His conclusions that we must follow ahadith can be refuted just as easily.

          Good night.
          Salam.

          Allah Hafiz.
