I bought Edips translation and was disappointed by it. First it was missing 2 verses, the explanation of verses were trying to push many ideas including 19 code and I wasted money buying this for my mum. Now I bought bout 5 copies of Freeminds translation for dawah. I read the online version partly, but I noticed yesterday how alot of the verses r exactly the same as Edips.. Other than words like "and" being different. So who wrote it? Or copied it?

      Peace,

Is the "Freeminds" translation you're referring to the one called "The Qur'an A Monotheist Translation" by The Monotheist Group? If so, I'd like to know the answer to your question as well.

In regards to Yuksel's translation, I too disagree with the omitting of those 2 verses based on the Code 19 belief, and a few other issues as well. However, I wouldn't be so quick to say it's a waste of money, especially if that's your only reason. The translation in my opinion is better than the aforementioned one, and perhaps the overall best I've come across. In the end I've not found a translation I agree with in it's entirety, and unless you have (and please do recommend!), then I'd say the best bet is to find the best translation and add Post-Its where you argue different. Just my humble opinion. )

      May peace be with you.

Ozi, as it appears, you do not deserve that translation. You are not alone in having problem with 19, since only a few can witness God's signs.

Please email me the proof of your purchase (such as an email from the online site you purchased the book) and I will refund you fully, provided that you have a PayPal account.

PS I have distributed hundreds of copies of this book and I am not making money of the translation of the Quran.

        Peace,
        Edip

Layth is the primary translator for the free-minds one, and is one of the translators of the reformist quran one, hence the similarities I guess.

if the Quran i have purchased has 2 verses taken out, it is no longer a complete Quran, therefore it is a waste of money... im not asking for charity here so i dnt need the refund. I find that instead of explaining the Quran wit hadith like sunni, Edip u explained things through 19 code which makes no sense. Now i bought it to give to my mum, cos i didnt want her to get confused wit wat hadith r ect...just the Quran i wanted to give, but instead from cover to cover it was full over this 19 code opinions.

              Salam,

I was looking forward to read Edip Yuskel's translation of the Quran but I have to say that I'm disappointed now knowing that 2 verses have been omitted.

I still may however purchase it.

              Peace to all.

No one can subract (or add) two (less or more) verses to the Quran. It contradicts several verses of the Quran. Of course, unless if you reject the authenticity of verses regarding the preservation of the Quran.

                Peace,
                Edip

I think reformist quran translation is decent, the notes are ok. I normally use quranix.net

The translation I usually recommend, if you want a book copy, is Muhammad Asad's but the physical copy is rather large and a little annoying. Alternatively, Abdel Haleem's is pretty good and cheap.

Most translations are fine, as long as one uses an intelligent approach.

                      No falsehood comes to it.

"falsehood comes not to it from before it nor from behind it; a sending down from One All-wise, All-laudable." Surah 4142

What have you added to the Arabic revelation? Nothing.
What have you removed from the Arabic revelation? Nothing.

"A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Quran for a people having knowledge," Surah 413
"behold, We have made it an Arabic Quran; haply you will understand;" Surah 433

We have the Arabic revelation to return to and confirm the Truth. It isn't a dead language known only by a handful of scholars. It is a living language still spoken today, with numerous means of translation for those possessed of minds.

Are you saying Allah revealed an English Quran? Is that your claim?
Where is your proof of this if you are saying that?

There is a reason why Allah tells all who read to confirm the Truth. Surah 7531-32, 1736, 496
You only remove two ayats that are proven to be in since the time of revelation.

How many times must you be proven wrong before you replace the two ayats you removed from your translation? You did authorize it, did you not?

You cannot say you were not given clear proof along with your warning. Return the two ayats to your publication, Edip Yuksel.

                      Repent and turn to Allah.

                      Peace.

                        Dear Raging,

Your criticism shows that you have not read our arguments for our position. Perhaps you read it while texting, eating dinner or watching a movie )

When you criticise an idea that you have not educated yourself about, you punch the strawman in your imagination.

I recommend you reading the NINETEEN God's Signature in Nature and Scripture and THEN critcise us. If you cannot affor buying the book please send me and email with your EMAIL address so that I give you access to the electronic version. I am not posting the book on the web since I am constantly improving it.

                          Dear Raging,

Insults. Nifty. You only prove you have no foundation for your argument, and rely on tactics to detract from the proof brought from the Quran.

I'm going to give you an insight into my life, so you understand why your comments are inappropriate and totally off the mark.
I don't have texting on my phone. If you want to speak to me, you can call me. I don't text, tweet, or any other form of Attention-Deficit telecommunication; literacy and writing are fast becoming a lost Art. As well, the money I save from not texting can be used for other endeavors, such as increasing the abundance I have to give to charity every month.

"who, when they expend, are neither prodigal nor parsimonious, but between that is a just stand;" Surah 2567

I spend my evenings with the television off and in study of the Quran or in creating Art. I do not have cable as there is nothing worth viewing. Instead, I read and study and seek answers in the Quran, and check out what Allah tells us to check. As I don't spend all my time in study, I also use the gifts Allah gave me to serve Him.
I ask no reward for it. What Allah provides is Bountiful.

As to the points Proof is given from the Quran that refutes your teachings. If you were guided by Allah, you would be able to bring proof from the Quran to support why you believe what you believe.
But you don't. Because you cannot.

"And We indeed have revealed to thee clear messages, and none disbelieve in them except the transgressors." Surah 299

I have Rashad's Quran translation. I know what he taught and what he believed.
I have your Quran translation. I know what you believe, and where your teachings are taken from. You aren't bringing anything original.

"Say "The Truth has arrived, and falsehood neither originates, nor reproduces." Surah 3449

If you upheld the Quran, you would not need anyone to purchase any additional books - hadith - written by you. You would be able to bring proof from the pure, protected, revelation from the Lord of all beings The Quran. But you cannot answer, because you have nothing to answer with.
The final argument is always Allah's.

"Then, if they do not answer you, know that it has been sent down with God's knowledge, and that there is no god but He. So have you surrendered?" Surah 1114

Why are you adverse when Allah alone is mentioned without your Code 19, Edip Yuksel?

"When God is mentioned alone, then shudder the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter, but when those apart from Him are mentioned behold, they rejoice." Surah 3945

I invite you to Allah, Edip Yuksel. Return to your Quran translation and read it alongside the Arabic revelation. Confirm the Truth. Ask Allah to guide you and to explain the Quran to you. Change your condition and turn to Allah. He is Oft-Returning, Merciful.
                          The choice is yours.

Should you reject, then know that Allah will judge between us on the Day of Judgment in that wherein we differ. You cannot say you were not given reminder, nor warned.

Bring proof or keep silent, it's wiser.

                          Peace.

Strange...When the discussion was "Bakka" the Quran was not sufficient for you and you started relying on the people and their false hadith...I guess each person only sees what they want to see.

The Arabic Quran is not unified word for word letter for letter verse stop for verse stop, so the argument that edip has acted against the original Quran is false to begin with since none present would know which is the correct Quran (is it Hafs, or Warsh, or neither?).

Rational and informed debate are the way...not rash emotions.

Strange...When the discussion was "Bakka" the Quran was not sufficient for you and you started relying on the people and their false hadith...I guess each person only sees what they want to see.

                                    Layth,

You make claims but bring no proof.
No where in the thread refuting your claims that Jerusalem is Masjid Al-Haram was anything but the descriptions given in the Quran used to confirm the Truth. The descriptions of the world around us are easy to find, and the Quran upholds Masjid Al-Haram is in Mecca, what was once called Bakka. Masjid Al-Haram is not the destroyed Temple - Masjid Al-Aqsa - in Jerusalem.

You could not disprove what was shown there, so now you attempt to derail a thread and Invalidate, assisting the satans (Surah 6112) who seek to lead others astray.
I am clear of what you do.

Bring proof or keep silent. It's wiser.

                                    Highlights above are from me.

                                    Khalil

                                    Khalil, let me be clear

If you follow teachings Allah did not reveal, you associate partners with Allah. Surah 73

Rashad Khalifa was not a Messenger of Allah.

Rashad Khalifa claimed he was the Messenger of the Covenant, using Malachi 31 as proof. However, the Messenger of the Covenant is named in Malachi 45.
"See, I will send you the prophet ELIJAH before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes."
Elijah, known as Elias (pbuh), is spoken of in the Quran and the Bible.
                                    Surah 685, 37123-130, I Kings 1820-40
Rashad Khalifa is not Elias. Peace and blessings on all the Prophets of Allah.
?And certainly We have made clear for men in this Quran every kind of description, but most men consent naught save denying.? Surah 1789

Followers of Rashad Khalifa ignore Surah 4142.
"Falsehood shall not come to it from before it nor from behind it; a revelation from the Wise, the Praised One." Surah 4142
Rashad denied hadith as guidance yet he turned to hadith to base his claim on corruption in the Quran. Our Creator clearly states no falsehood will come to the Quran, in the past or in the future, before it nor behind it.

                                    The Quran was sent to verify (musaddiqun) previous Books Surah 381, 4252, 548, 241, 289, 291, 2101, 303, 692

"And when (Wa-ith) God took (akhatha Allahu) Compact of the Prophets (meethaqa alnnabiyyeena) 'That I have given you of Book and Wisdom; then there shall come to you a Messenger verifying (musaddiqun) what is with you -- you shall believe in him and you shall help him; do you agree?' He said. 'And do you take My load on you on that condition?' They said, 'We do agree.' God said, 'Bear witness so, and I shall be with you among the witnesses.'" Surah 381

"Wa-ith akhatha Allahu meethaqa alnnabiyyeena lama ataytukum min kitabin wahikmatin thumma jaakum rasoolun musaddiqun lima maAAakum latu/minunna bihi walatansurunnahu qala aaqrartum waakhathtum AAala thalikum isree qaloo aqrarna qala faishhadoo waana maAAakum mina alshshahideena" Surah 381

This Compact - promise, agreement - is with those who inherited the Book, for the Messengers of Allah verified the Book that was with them.

"And when God took compact (meethaqa) with those who had been given the Book 'You shall make it clear unto the people, and not conceal it.' But they rejected it behind their backs and sold it for a small price -- how evil was that their selling!" Surah 3187

Khalil, now you have a problem.
By upholding your beliefs, you have a contradiction The Prophets (pbut) - according to you - rejected the Book and sold it for a small price.

To you is your religion, to me is mine.

                                    Peace.

If she wants and desires to know the actual truth and is concerned by knowing what is really going on, God will help her through out the Qur'an...If she just wants to skim through stuff...then no...not really.

Sigh, I have double posted sorry >
