The Computer referenced in the Quran?

When one thinks about an invention which really changed the course of humanity as a whole, it would probably be the computer. From all the complicated computing calculations to blogging! I mean here we are talking on a virtual world that really doesn't exist!
Chapter 27 verse 82 states ?At the right time we will produce for them a creature, made of earthly materials, declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations.? Does this sound like it is referring to the computer? A creature made of earthly materials.
The heart of the computer is the silicon chip which is made from a very thin slice of silicon. Silicon is the most common mineral on earth. The modern computer cannot work without this silicon, without this ?earthly material.? As a matter of interest, as far as I can tell there is not a single part of the computer that is not made from the earth. The copper of the wires, the iron of the chassis and brackets and screws, the platinum and gold of the contacts, the carbon of the resistors and even the plastic of the case are made from mineral oil.Do you guys believe that this reference is directed at the computer?

I read that interpretation in the footnotes of certain translators, but I personally believe it to be a bit of a leap as the verse seems more allegorical than being any particular thing. Also, almost everything is made from the Earth in one way or another, so it really leaves it open, and yet we don't know if in the future these materials will still be utilized in "computers". It's still debatable though, but for now I like Muhammad Asad's idea
"The "creature brought forth out of the earth" is apparently an allegory of man's "earthly" outlook on life - in other words, the soul-destroying materialism characteristic of the time preceding the Last Hour. This "creature" parabolically "tells" men that their submergence in exclusively materialistic values - and, hence, their approaching self-destruction - is an outcome of their lack of belief in God."

This verse is about judgement day, and those who believe wrong/polytheists. Why would a computer be involved here? It makes no sense. I find it odd that so many people try to distort the meaning of this verse.
I think Picktals translation is probably the closest to the truth.

It's all pure speculation here, when it comes to this verse we are all in speculation city. So let me add my 0.02 of imagination.
Researchers at the Blue Brain project are presently working on trying to simulate the entire human brain on computer. They have succeeded in simulating a piece of rat brain so far, which is no mean feat!
Suppose they succeed in spawing this human brain. Would it have a soul? If it does not have a soul, then it is a computer capable of talking intelligently and making rapid calculations and the first to be able to make "higher" decisions/thoughts of consciousness without any inclinations/bias.
I could very well imagine a human brain not bound to desires and fear of death/people/loss would be very honest about its views on reality. Perhaps this brain could tell the idiots of this planet what they already knew deep down but rejected due to their base desires.
