Your bodyweight stays constant when you make up the missed meals, that is the establishment of the balance. Even when you have missed a meal without knowing, you will subconsciously make it up. We can always eat double time. But can you turn the sun back on itself and make it go up and down for every single salat you missed?
Salat is not something that you can miss and make up. You miss it, it's gone. Nor can you go back in time and undo all your bad deeds. Yet surely can you not undo your bad deeds right now by doing good deeds that overpower them? So the best one can do is turn and turn again in future until one acquires an intimate connection with He.

You see OPF, the very reasonable and good arguments R. Khalifa said about Salat and Ramadan made me accept it all wholeheartedly and convert completely to Islam and do it all the right way. His best arguments are that our soul grows with Salat, especially the dawn one, and I know that Muslims are the healthiest on the planet especially because of bowing and prostrating as the head-neck relationship is so very important. Ramadan fast is also very good for the body and internal organs and very healthy. So nothing mystical, but quite reasonable and healthy about those practices. So, for me it was just very logical that God would prescribe good things to aid us in our spiritual growth.
But then come the distortions and traditions and peoples lies etc.
And anyway, who is R. Khalifa to say that he knows that even before Muhammad those practices were such and alive and they came to us? Was he there? As Krishnamurti once wisely said, the first thing to do if one wants to find Truth, is NOT to follow people or any person.
I was not born Muslim, I grew up in Judaic and Christian environment, but I accepted Quran and Islam as God Himself guided me because I was sincerely searching and searching and crying for Him.My only wish is that God helps me to increase my love for Him.
My only desire is to be the dust under His Foot! -

I believed in Rashad khalifa's message of upholding the Quran alone and not the Hadith! I believed teh Miracle of 19, and as proven on this site, that the number 19 has basic in the formulation of the Quran. One disconcerning fact is that even the Submitter do not uphold the Quran alone!
There are only 3 prayers cited in the Quran, by name, as well as in the previous scriptures.
[Also there is no 2.5% charity in the Quran. It is left open as the "extra/afw" that we have!
What's sad is that Even in one of Rashad's videos (big debate), he states that "If i tell you to do anything that is not in the Quran, DO NOT DO IT!" Thus Rashad's message, is what should be followed, not his human self!See number of salats in the Quran

I just do not know how to get rid of myself in the meantime. And in that meantime, I need to know whether I shoud perform 3 or 5 Salat...
Also try to strive in the sake of God, because God guides those who strive/persevere in his cause (Quran 2969)

Salat is that which clarifies with surety, that which leads you away from evil, that which corrects your soul. So when one performs salat, they are bound to see clearly, see things as they are. Before salat you have 75% of the information and think it's 100%, after salat you have 100% of the information and KNOW it is 100%. What practices do that?

It appears that you need an encyclopedia to understand the Quran brother. You lack basic logic which makes you easy prey for those who twist the scripture.
I remember in one of your posts that you said that prayer wasn't a ritual to be done at a specific time. Tell me, by just using the Quran and your own reasoning and logic which God gave you, what can you interpret from the two verses below
4102 If you are with them and hold the contact prayer for them, then let a group from amongst them stand with you and let them bring their weapons; when they have prostrated then let them stand guard from behind; let a group who has not yet contacted come and contact with you, and let them be wary and let them bring their weapons with them. The ingrates hope that you would neglect your weapons and goods so they can come upon you in one blow. There is no sin upon you if you are impeded by rainfall, or if you are ill, that you keep from placing down your weapons. Be wary. God has prepared for the ingrates a humiliating retribution.
Question 1 If pray wasn't a ritual practice then why would God advocate that pray be done even at war times???
Question 2 If pray wasn't a ritual but commitments then why would you need weapons with you when you do them during war???

Question 3 Why would Solomon worry about the time , if pray was a commitment??? Couldn't he just do the commitments at night???
Question 4 Wouldn't the two verses above imply that pray is not a commitment but rather a ritual that is to done at a specific time???
I challenge you to answer my questions with logic. If you're responses do not make sense in the next post then I and others would know that you are deliberately hiding the truth to satisfy your own desires.
Regarding this other issue with about " fighting in the cause of God" this topic is very simple to me because I know how to read the Quran very well (I'm not surprised that they are many like yourself who can't read/understand the Quran since the Quran is protected against those who lack sincerity)
2190 Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress, God does not like the aggressors.
2191 Kill them wherever you find them, and expel them from where they expelled you, and know that persecution is worse than being killed. Do not fight them at the Restricted Temple unless they fight you in it; if they fight you then kill them. Thus is the reward of those who do not appreciate.Basically fighting was prescribed to the people (during Muhammad's time) against those who fought against them. If you study the Quran carefully(which may be to difficult for you) you will see that war is only allowed in cases of self-defense and where there is social injustice. When it comes to war and upholding justice a servant of God is no less different than Captain America or Superman(except in power department). Wars are meant to fight injustice and not for conquest or vain pursuits
607 Perhaps God will grant compassion between you and those you consider enemies; and God is Omnipotent. God is Forgiving, Compassionate.
608 God does not forbid you from those who have not fought you because of your system, nor drove you out of your homes, that you deal kindly and equitably with them. For God loves the equitable.

Those who ally with them, then such are the transgressors.In my view violence should always be a last resort (if no violence have been perpetrated ). Striving does not neccesarily mean "fight". Just by accomplishing your prayers, giving to the poor, Being nice and righteous in general (i.e living a righteous life/trying your best) you are in definition striving.

I will tell you From my own research, that there was and is only 3 prayers all throughout the OT, NT, and the Quran. IF God stated in the Quran that the children of Israel did their "Salat" (moses's time), and IF Jesus was advised to do his "salat", and IF God commands us to do our salat, does this not mean that the salat is the same in all of the scriptures?The Arabic 'Salat' is equivilant of the Aramaic 'sloota' (Prayer) and the Hebrew Tfillah (prayer) or Amidah (standing prayer) Which is basically the 3 daily prayers evening, morning, and noon

To answer all your questions, I must say first of all, that my problem is simply that one of the language. Since I noticed that a lot of people seem not to be able to coincide even whether it is two or three prayers a day, let alone whether "al-wusta" is a middle prayer or just an excellent prayer, just imagine how could I feel, reduced to some English translations of which I even do not know which one is good or which is the best, let alone my frustration for not knowing the Arabic language!
The problem is how did God want to communicate the Quran to all mankind if they do not all speak Arabic?
Now, I know that even the dictionaries can be twisted and distorted, as people do change meaning of words sometimes, let alone the natural growth and transformation of any language.So, the brief answer to your questions is that I mistrust the translations and am not certain about the real core meaning of the word Salat or salawat or SWT, and, on the other side of the coin, the meaning which Aidid Safar's book exposed.
As for the strife in the cause of God, or fighting in the cause of God, as you can read some posts, even about that people do not agree on the translation, let alone of its meaning or implementation.
Yes, I do want to use logic and Quran alone to guide me, but at the moment I am simply stuck.

Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like forth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.The straight path is one path but there are many pathlets - the left side of the straight path, the right side of the straight path, the middle, the left middle, etc. Many bent paths intersect the straight path too! But ultimately there is only one straight path.
This is how ALLAH writes one book that encompasses an entire space of possible possibilites that humans could have followed. To put this into perspective, over the last 1400 years billions upon billions upon billions of people came into being and died. All of these had their own free will, they could have gone ANY way they pleased. You would probably need more than the earth's weight in paper to write the number of possible possibilities that could have occured let alone calculate every one of them yet ALLAH encompassed it in 6234 succinct verses.
What you must be aware of is the veil of knowledge that we cannot pass or overcome, it prevents the unlearned from knowing things they shouldn't and it prevents the learned from teaching them no matter how hard they strive. This same veil exposes all our folly, all our good and the keen eye may read people inside out with sufficient knowledge of this veil, though this will not help in the least with regards to transgressing it. This is the same veil that lets you encompass the knowledge of a child yet someone older than you can see your naivetey when you cannot yourself.
