A Possible Oversight of 4:34???

But not specifically a man and a woman, it could be a donkey and she-donkey. This refers to sex of the species. Therefore it means masculine and feminine, not necessarily a man and woman. In 411 is first Aulaad which could comprise both genders, males and females and then females are described by the specific name Women.
You are correct. But since unsa is a gender like zakr it includes men and women as well
-
nisa always refers to over two or 3+ females NEVER to males
this is a clear definition given in 411So if nisa over two (feminine)
end of discussion
You misunderstood something. nisa is not a gendet hence both men and women can be nisa. So shirley is absolutely correct when she says that nisa does not mean women.

and the male is never like the female;
Just see the sign under your avator and compare it with that of some male member of the forum. Even they do not match. So how Unsa could include man.

Quran 2222 use the word nisa/
the female Human menstruates. unless the verse is not about menstruation, a description of a female.
This verse is NOT about menstruation . It would also be silly since men don't have menstruation and nisa are weak men and women among the people in contradiction to the elite rijaal and qawm

Please, further explain why, Quran 2222 not about Menstruation. Peace and Thanks.

Quote from Mazhar on October 12, 2011, 020203 PM
and the male is never like the female;
Why "never"?
"Never" does not appear in the Arabic, and it does change the meaning.
Salaam
Hitherto have you ever seen a male who is like a female? If not, "never", from commonsense point of view, what to say of the grammatical structure of the sentence and peculiar choice of words to depict this fact, is correct. Would you need its analysis?

Your socalled commonsense and all your complicated theories have zero importance. The fact is that the quran does not use the word 'never'. You can argue with God about why he didnt used the word 'never' in another place.
And by the way, yes I have seen many males like females. In fact every male I have seen is like a female he has two eyes, one nose, one mouth, one heart, two legs and two arms just like the female isn't that amazing and a surprise for you ?? rotfl rotfl bravo bravo bravo -
Male and female are clearly defined boundaries.
Masculine and feminine exist on a continuum like the yin and yang.
The "man" referred to in quran is androgynous, so to speak. And you know exactly how I mean.
Peace

There is a context to it and as it is, without the addition of "never" it is perfectly understandable, as much in English as in Spanish as in Arabic or any language I know. You may find it apropriate, but no matter how you find it, "never" is not there, and it may be your opinion that it might be there or that it is implied, but still IT IS NOT THERE. And you can analyse it, but you cannot analyse never, because it is not there. And also as far as I am concerned I have never understood you ranalisys or at least the way you set them forth, and it would be silly of me to ask for something which I have never been able to use. Explain whatever you want to explain without this analysis thing. Other analysis I understand, but not yours, I am sorry.
May be you are pointing to emphasis of some kind, but I very much doubt that that emphasis has anything to do with "never".
?Could you put in Arabic the sentence
"And the male is not like the female" ?
Salaam

I dont understand what You are saying. What has avator to do with anything ?

I have written an article on verse 434 of the Qur'an, a verse which has commonly been misinterpreted to justify violence against women. I have created a website to publish this article www.quranverse434.com

salaam aqua,
Your article suffers from multiple problems as highlighted here
http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9599954.msg347142#msg347142"withdraw/turn away / go away from them"
Requires the tashkeel of present day Arabic Quran to be incorrect
This alleged usage in 434 occurs in 435 with the preposition "Aan", thus making Quran seems inconsistent IF it did mean that in 434
No identical example of this DRB usage in Quran
No explanation of how the authority are notified
It is unclear to what extent one separates, how they can do so without being unjust etc
No supporting marital example in Quran
My view Impractical result when inserted into 4128-130 and somehow requires iAAradan to be a positive thing and potentially makes Drb/3rD similar"cite them" www.Quran434.com
Works perfectly with the tashkeel in the present day Arabic Quran
Several identical examples of this DRB usage in Quran, including when humans are the direct object as in 434
Explains how the authority is notified by 435, and provides perfect logical/sequential coherence
DRB use is clear and simple to implement practically
581-4 provides perfect coherence in terms of marital example
When inserted into 4128-130 provides a complementary practical and coherent solutionIn fact there were more issues in your article. If you begin your own thread for your article I'd be happy to highlight them for you to respond to.
Interestingly, in your work you do not reference www.Quran434.com where you clearly got a lot of information from.
