Rum 30 - So set your face truly to the religion being upright; the nature in which Allah has made mankind no change (there is) in the work by Allah that is the true Religion but most among mankind know not.
God Almighty declares that we are all spiritually, physically and socially created in the same nature with the religion of Islam. In order to live a harmonious life Muslims have to obey the rules of Islam even when they don?t fully understand the values of its commands.
Our Creator is aware that not all Muslims will know the importance of practicing His commands. That is the reason why Allah?s (swt) commands are compulsory and they are not left to our free will. To make it more clear, this is just like us ordering our young children to brush their teeth, eat their meal or to finish their homework. In the same principal Allah (swt) is leading us to the right way.
Some of the benefits of the daily prayer, accepted by Doctors and Physiatrists are as follows
a) Increasing energy and liveliness
b) More in depth peace and fulfillment
c) Better working digestive system
d) Clearer thinking and the ability of deep concentration
e) Better relaxed muscles, better body positioning, relief of pains including headache
f) Increase in one?s immune system and the relief from illnesses
g) Deeper and fulfilling sleeping
h) Increase in the ability to rule relations with others
i) Increase in dealing with stress and problems
j) Better creativity and understanding the feelings of othersAlthough there are all these and many other benefits of the daily prayers, Muslim?s pray only because of the reason that it?s God Almighty?s order. Lord Almighty is Al-Ghanaie = The All Rich. This means He is far away from the need to be worshiped; in fact worshiping to Allah (swt) is a necessity of every human being.
As long as we keep our prayers in Arabic, it would be best to learn the meanings of the Arabic phrases we use in our prayer. We can pray in Arabic and think of the meanings at the same time. Infact this is the only method that will stop our mind from wondering while we are praying.
By remembering the meanings of the Arabic terms in our daily prayers will start our prayer to;
-eliminate our small sins
-increase our iman (faith)
-keep our iman (faith) fresh
-save us from doing any evil deeds
-save us from doing any shameful deedsWe advice every Muslim to memorize the meanings of the Arabic phrases used in the daily prayer in order to benefit fully from the daily prayers.

No Kaiokenred, we do not need rituals to contact an omnipresent God, but we do need salat-contact prayer for ourselves, to grow our conscience and nourish our soul!
We can reach higher levels of conscience only by persistently working in the correct direction.
God does not need our actions. It is good for us, and Hu (Allah) prescribed it.By the way, I kindly asked NOT to post any replies to my topic, you can go on discussing salat and prayer on other threads

The answer is that the number 37757 is 17 ? 2221. 17 being the number of units in daily contact prayers and 2221 is a prime and its index is the prime 331 with an index of 67 which is another prime, and happens to be the 19th prime. Furthermore, there are exactly 67 twin prime pairs before the lonely prime 2221. Note that 67 is the exactly the nimber of times the word ?Salat? has been mentioned in the Quran. Note that 2221 is the 198th lonely prime and the index of composite 198 is 152 = 19 ? 8. Again note that 19 is the 8th prime number.
I like to emphasize that these are only reminders and the Salat cannot be taught or forced upon people, but it is inspired to people by God as it is stated by God in 2173."

Salat or Contact Prayer
A Gift from God
God reminds us in the Quran 67 times about the Salat or contact prayer. This has been decreed for us in order to grow our souls through a direct contact with our Creator. God mentions that Salat is decreed at specific times as it is stated in 4103;
"And when you finish your contact prayer, then you shall commemorate God622 while standing, sitting or lying on your side. And once you are secure, you shall continue upholding the contact prayer. Surely, contact prayer has been decreed upon the believers at specific times."
Salat has been decreed for us at least 5 times during the day in specific time intervals. These times intervals are
Dawn, (245, during declining sun from the highest point towards the darkness of the night, (172, middle (223, early evening, (11114) and after when twilight is over in the evening (245.
Above and beyond these specific times God also encourages us to do some voluntary prayers as it is stated in 1779.
I want to emphasize that these are only reminders and the Salat cannot be taught or forced upon people, but it is inspired to people by God as it is stated by God in 2173;
"And We made them leaders who guided according to Our command and We inspired them to be doers of good and to observe the contact prayers and to give the cleansing charity and to Us they were worshipers."
In the past decade, there have several attempts to reduce the numbers of contact prayers to three or two. These efforts will eventually cancel contact prayers altogether and we should be alert and do not fall into the trap, or we fall into the same category of people described in 1959
(emphasis in red by me)"Afterwards, another generation replaced them who then wasted the contact prayer and followed their lust. They will therefore soon find out the evils of this."
Finally a sincere study of the Quran reveals that the number of daily contact prayers is more than three and definitely more than two. This is stated in 2238;
"Remember the contact prayers, as well as the middle prayer and rise up for God humbly."
The word ?salawat? in the Quranic text in Arabic is plural and refers to a number greater than two and at least three. Now if we add the ?middle prayer?, we end up with a minimum of four (4) daily contact prayers, however, an even number cannot have ?middle?, so it has to be at least five (5) daily contact prayers.
Again remember that everything in this article is only a reminder, pointing to verses in the Quran. The sincere believers already know this since God has inspired them.

I think i went through the conundrum of the 5 prayers a day or 3 for about a year. I actually prayed 3 times a day for about 6 months, then reverted to doing 5 times a day for also almost 6 months, then i turned again and prayed 3 times a day. The proximate dates are from 6/3/10 to 12/25/10 = 3 times a day, then 12/25/10 to 6/3/11 = 5 times a day, then from that point on my theology was 3 prayers a day. One day i even prayed 2 times a day, because i was confused about if there was a middle prayer. This is when Thanks be to God, i visited quran-islam.org to see whether they had any new topics, and as a "coincidence", i found that they have a new article confirming the middle third prayer.Again i have cited it before, God only mentions 3 names of prayers in the Quran, What are you going to name the other two???
I think you've read the article of should we follow rashad the messenger or his message, correct?
Rashad Khalifa's message was to only follow the Quran alone, and if he said something that wasn't in there (e.g friday sermons, 2.5% zakat), then we should not listen to him. He "pointed" at the Quran as the law giver, as decreed by the Almighty, he did not "point" at himself".And as a personal note, i have thought that the 3 daily prayers were the correct amount of prayers, even when i was praying 5 times a day, but there was fear of disobeying and not following the messenger, and even after i got over that and started pryaing 3 prayers a day, and then reverted to 5 prayers again, many times i've tried to revert to the 3 salats a day, with no success. This is because many times, when i tried, something bad would happen, and i would end up praying the 5 times a day again. This has thanfully changed at june of this year 2011.
This should give you the idea that sometimes you will be tested in order to pass on to the truth. The best thing to do is rightous work, because the Almighty created us to see which of us would be the most rightous is WORK.All and all, seek help from the Almighty, and do rightous work, because you wouldn't be doing wrong with doing rightous work.
(All of these statements are not 100% accurate or truthful, The Almighty is the only one who can state the Absolute truth laugh)

It was intended just as my personal conclusions.Now, as you perfectly write "The Almighty Alone is the only One who can state the Absolute Truth".
You see, when I stopped the traditional 5x prayer, something unpleasant (but not grave thanks to God) happened to me, as a sign that I went on a wrong path!
It lasted just a few weeks while I was under the influence of Safar's book.But when I returned to Khalifa's purified way of ablution and 5x prayer, things went back to normal, and good continued for me, and to those around me whom I thought the same practices. We all felt immediate benefits.
I do not think that Dr. Rashad Khalifa PhD, is infallible! But I know that he has done an enormously important work of purifying Islam.
Although there is some valuable information in Safar's book, there is also much dangerous blatant conjecture.
Dr. R. Khlaifa might not have been right about zakat or Jumma, and Safar might have brought some light on that, but I am in no position to give opinion on those issues because I did not study them enough. I am talking here about MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES!Now, there is a lot of invaluable new information that brother Pazuzu is giving us, and enlightening us, and we are entitled to research and learn.
There is so much to learn!The problem is that there is a lot of misinformation or false traditions, and I think since we are in a last period of history, each one of us now has to find a Way individually, and not wait to be spoon-fed by gurus or imams or priests or some idiotic scholars!
It is our own responsibility to find the Right Way to Allah and deserve His blessing.Brother youssef4342, I am answering to you because I feel a special kinship with you because, from reading your posts (which are many ) ), I realized that we both have very similar concerns and inquietude, and quite similar spiritual background and provenience.
May Allah reward you for your good work, and help us all find His Right Path!

Sometimes it gets sad when you feel like you're overlooked/unapreciated, so again thank you handshakeMoreover, Yes Rashad Khalifa has pointed to the "Quran alone" doctrine, but do his followers follow this doctrine wholeheartedly?.
Praying 5 daily prayers is sometimes hard to put up, and the timing is a real challange!
My advice would be to pray to God Almighty to show you which one. I did and that's where i got the 3 daily salats.As a funny note, In the begining, when i first entered Islam, i used to do salat 5 times a day + the extra prayers that come with it. It got to the point where it was just TOO MUCH!, it was like 4+4+2 prayers in one setting plus 2 extra here and there.... it was just overwhelming hypno
