Peace, I have just realised that sunnis, sufis, and ofcourse anyone else who sets up partners in worship with God are polytheists.
Up until tonight I thought that maybe I can consider them to be us but now I am thinking that when the Qur'an talks about polytheism that they come under that definition. I sort of new that all along but i had doubts about wether i am 100% Muslim who follows the Qur'an only or that maybe that hadiths should be followed.
This makes things easier and better. Now I am certain especially after reading the natural republick( by the moitheist group) again an looking into some hadith that seriously contradicts the Qur'an.
My favorite contradiction between the Qur'an and the hadith is were the Qur'an doesn't allow compulsion in the religion but the hadith asks for apostates to be killed. A baritoneh wich they don't follow in many countries because its unrealistic.
Thoughts/ comments?
Thanks

I agree with you. For me the light when on when I was told that if I did not say the second half of the shahada in my prayer then it would be invalid. So it was contingent on Muhammad's name, which to me is the same as the Christians prayer being invalid if they don't say in Jesus's name or in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
But my husband who is sunni, will say "Alhamdulliah I am Muslim, I need no one but Allah" However, think about it, it is not true. If you believe without Muhammad's name all of your salat is worthless, then you need more than just Allah.
As far as Hadith, my favorite is how the Goat has more power than God, by eating the ayat condoning to stone people to death. Really?? a GOAT, that is the best you can come up with? It is like the older version of "the dog at my homework" What was the punishment of the Goat that ATE THE WORD OF GOD? Maybe they stoned him.. Who knows, so much for the Quran stating it is complete and God would protect, not with the MIGHTY goat around.

Greetings and Peace, all group
The following is not intended as an accusation towards any.
There are many "schools of thought." They are all labels. It is the actions that we see and the beliefs that are professed that matter--never the label. Only those who set up partners are polytheists. There are monotheists under all manner of labels--and polytheists too. ALLAH knows best, and to ALLAH we return.
262 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in GOD and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.
Do you see? Ignore the label!
2138 Such is the coloring of GOD, and who is better than GOD in coloring? And to Him we are in service.
Abraham (peace upon all prophets) did not have AQ. Does that make him any less than a person who does? hmm Of course not!
367 Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Nazarene, but he was a monotheist who submitted; he was not of the polytheists.
4125 And who is better in the system than the one who submits himself to GOD, and he is a good doer, and he follows the creed of Abraham in monotheism? And GOD took Abraham as a friend.
Also, remember this?
494 O you who believe, if you go forth in the cause of GOD, you shall investigate carefully. And do not say to those who greet you with peace "You are not a believer!" You are seeking the vanity of this world; but with GOD are many riches. That is how you were before, but GOD graced you, so investigate carefully. GOD is expert over what you do.
That is to say that there are monotheists, ISA, identifiable under all manner of "religion." It is speculation and generalization to think that because a person is identified with a different school of thought that they are a polytheist. ISA, if they ARE caught in polytheism that they find their way out. Have you heard the aphorism of catching more flies with a teaspoon of honey than with a gallon of vinegar? hmm Be positive, invite, and be a good example.
4133 And who is better in saying than he who invites to GOD, and does good works, and says "I am one of those who have submitted."
Be thankful to not be caught in polytheism!
May ALLAH see fit to guide all seekers.
peace
