Hmmm...the "what if" questions huh.....if i understood u correctly.

Speaking for myself. i guess all we got left are our own moral values. Since IF there is no God, then there wouldn't be hell or heaven. So i guess everyone will be "clamouring the corporate ladder" so to speak. And whether we achieve that by good or bad means, it still boils down to moral values.

It rather boils down to being appreciative or being unappreciative. Those who are appreciative and not arrogant will recognize God's signs believe in him and do good deeds. Those who don't will behave arrogantly and place themselves as gods (their egos). Everyone deep down believes in an Almighty God or has the ability to infer it , the only thing that stops them are there egos.

7172 When your Lord took from the children of Adam from their backs, their progeny; and He made them witness over themselves "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we bear witness." Thus you cannot say on the day of Resurrection that you were unaware of this.

The unappreciative are the ones who instead of giving thanks to God for what they have they give thanks to each other and behave like they are masters of the universe. This is unacceptable in God's eye because he is one who granted us all things. Without his help no one can accomplish anything. So this is a great sin. Having a god besides God shows a lack of intelligence and appreciation of the limitless proofs provided by the Almighty Creator on a DAILY BASIS! Do you see how large a sin idol worship is? So basically paradise is for the appreciative (those who recognize God's signs, worship him alone and do good deeds) the intelligent people.

There is no such thing as knowing there is no God. Atheists often talk about "being brave", when they make that statement. Why would they feel braveness? Because they also know they cannot support this argument.

You can look up in the sky, and say, "I see no God". You might even pray, and feel that no-one answers you. And thus conclude there is no "such" God.

However consciousness exists. Apparently You exist. And it really comes down to what you would call that. THIS is what religion identifies as God.

I am not saying that prayer is never answered. Indeed inshaallah, prayers can do miracles. But I do believe that anyone who is godconscious, can be in a dialogue with God, through what is going on in ones life. If you look for Gods communications, I think you will see them. (When you are ready.)

Provided that you come to know of it as a fact that there is no God, what difference does it make in your life ?

1- To get the answer change your question a little, change it to "What if there is a God?" Hopefully you may get your answer, inshaAllah.

2- Take a try saying yourself that there is no God, no one has control over me, etc. etc. Don't worry you have an option to come back after facing few problems... please look below

I dont know whats wrong, either I am getting old, or free-minders are getting old. The question was pretty simple even in my first post. I guess it has become our personality trait to challenge other belief systems , so now we simply read a few words and jump in Defence of the Qur'an..lol. Please consider reading my question in FULL CONTEXT. Not only the line where I said "What if there is no God".

It will impact me greatly since I would be more confused than ever. No God is like saying 2 + 2 = 10. The fact that the universe has laws must imply that some higher entity is making sure that those laws are in check.

Good question...for me I dont know for sure what could have been different since I have had some religious beliefs all my life and hence they have become part of my personality..so much so that to identify myself as something different to them would be misleading.

I guess I would still be a kind and loving person (I hope) but i think I would be highly likely to lose my way during harsh times, when I do not have an external check ie the quran. That is the main difference having a religion makes in my life..to give me hope during the tough times and to guide me in a correct manner back to the Truth.

there is no God, that is a 100% fact, it is not a what if, how does that impact your life, it removes a figmant of your imagination to blame, to worship, to beg for advantage over your neighbour, it removes the dogma of religion, it allows you to seach for what there truely is, not what ignorance invents, not wishful thinking, not something that absolutely no evidence exists for.

It allows you to question everything, it allows you to find answers that give reasoned and logical conclusions to remedy, because you have taken the lies away, you have shed the easy option, the quick fix, the common delusion. This is why the very foundation of Islam is 'There is No God'.

God takes a Creator and makes it a man in the sky looking down, it makes you 'Religious', and there is nothing worse than religion to spread hate, confusion and bigotry, religion is like a man with a big dick, who takes it out constantly and shows people how big it is, shoving it right in their faces, trying to ram it down their throat, beating them with it, he parades that big dick around with pride and confidence, but everyone knows he's just a big dick in the end, without depth of purpose or knowledge.

Alright, ?what if I know there is no God??

I have never been in the position where I am in a complete conviction that God does not exist. However, I have been in a situation where I was swaying back and forth, and not caring about religion because I despised how people depicted religion and God. During that time, while I believe I was not exactly a bad person, I did not do too well with my life. I was very materialistic, and not giving too much thought about personal progression, or contributing to social development. Anyhow, being more intact with spirituality and God awareness has given me the desire to do more social works. I gotta admit, it all started because I wanted to reap heavenly rewards (such impure motives!). But nowadays, I do feel there is more meaning to life, and I do get a sense of contentment from doing good. Okay, I know I sounded completely up myself and a bit like a douche bag. What I was saying is, the belief in God has given more ?spark? in my life, and has given it a bit more meaning.

That brings back to your question, there will be two different scenarios. If at the time I came to a belief that God did not exist, I probably would continue living a materialistic life, and would feel hollow most of the times. I would not feel the desire to give more to the community, and just be immersed in worldly pursue (without being immoral). I cannot imagine that in the future I will adopt the belief of God?s non-existence (after what I believe now), but if it does happen, I believe I will probably still continue doing social works here and there as it has developed into a habit, I suppose. Though I suspect it may not be of the same intensity. There may be some of Qur?anic guidelines that I will discard, such as not-marrying disbelievers, not-partaking in usury (will get a mortgage straight away!), not-eating pork, etc. On top of that, I imagine I will actually feel that I lose that spiritual ?attachment? to the friends that I have made here on Free-Minds and drift away from them (which, will make my life a bit more hollow because connecting with the believers has given me a lot of joy). So yeah, I will lose something special, definitely.

Thanks for expressing your concerns regarding the "God delusion". Anyways, the reason I along with many of us here came to our conclusion is not because we chose to remain enslaved by the tradition. Atleast, the hours of agnosticism forced me to investigate this so called "delusion" and either keep it in my life or throw it in the bin. I started at the core, that is, the scriptures, and successfully eliminated the falsehood from the truth. I cant speak on behalf of everyone here, but surely my position is not a result of any wishful thinking, but quit the opposite. I started by throwing out such delusions from my life. Look around you, very little number of people actually gives a sh*t about that. They hear of cries and calls and repeat, they are deaf/dumb/blind , they do not understand. So, it isnt wise to arrange me with them in the same group and have a shot at criticism interms of blind belief.

Oh... and the creed of Islam is not "There is no God..." , that would be either deliberate misinterpretation or plain ignorance in your part. It is "There is no God EXCEPT THE GOD..."

you think you need a statement of 'There is No God. Only the God.' that is both a contradictory statement and a nonsensical one, if we change the term God for another word, There is no truth. Only the truth? There is No ignorance. Only the ignorance? There is no stupidity. Only the stupidity?

Allah does not mean The God. No evidence exists for a God, hence the statement, 'There is No God.' with a full stop.

There is tons of evidence for a creator, but that is not a God.

Allah is indeed the Creator of all realities, but Allah is not a God.

Does the Qur'an ask you to refer to the Creator or to a God, to the sustainer, the maintainer, the most merciful, the most beneficent, the attributes of the Creator, not the God of a male personification, to be worshipped and prayed to.

The creator of all reality does not need your prayers,but wishes you to act with a duty of care for those around you, for the natural world, for the future generations. As Allah manifests all realities from the inside out instant to instant, what you see, feel, hear, think is of the Creator, who are you praying to outside of yourself?

The Creator is closer than your jugular vein, the creator is manifesting you and all reality from the inside out, this demands if you wish to know the creator, that can only be achieved from the inside out, no amount of outward praying will alter anything, you change yourself from the inside and demonstrate that inner being through your outward actions, hence you're are judged upon your actions.

But worship, pray and have hollow faith, act religiously against those around you in pieous sanctity, you will be judged and fail the simple test of life, truth is truth, you need look no further than the slave masters of religion upon the minds of mankind, imposing the misery and stagnation of religious dogma which drags ignorance as its blanket.

Islam would free the world, but religion has hidden its truth.
