Evolution and Quran

For Urdu knowing readers--the initial status of Man
http//haqeeqat.org.pk/Urdu%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/02.%20Explanation%20of%20Surat/103.%20Al%20Asr/103%20Tarjma.gif
Swearing is by the Span of Time,
that it is a fact that the Man, as a species, is certainly in loss-worse state at the concluding point in time than the state/position at the point in time of beginning;
except those people who willingly and affectionately accepted/believed and performed moderate righteous deeds, and/while they consciously kept themselves embedded with the Fact/Book-Grand Qur'aan; and they convincingly kept themselves remain coolly perseverant and steadfast.
Man was created as Man

Salam.
hmm I have seen that many here, believe and agree with the evolution theory of Darwin (others agree with Dawkins but it does not matter). Not being able to find a concrete, constructed answer and explanation of this idea (that the theory of evolution is in complete agreement with the Quran) I have made this thread to (hopefully) understand ).
Shalom,
When you agree that the universe is created by God too, you do not understand it as things materializing in an instant from your perspective, do you ? If you have no problem with physics as it explains the creation of stars, planets, solar systems, galaxies etc, you should have none with the evolution of man. Both evolved.
Man was created as Man
Ofcourse, man was created as man. Before that, it was just another monkey when it was not man.

I did not ask you to compare evolution of the human being with the universe, but rather to explain using Quranic verses, that it (evolution of the human being) does not go in direct contradiction with the common understanding (again, I do not say that I do believe it).

Shalom,
I understood your question. But I refrained from answering the way it should be answered due to lack of time. I am working on something right now. So, my take at the explanation using the Qur'an will take some time. But I am pretty sure, someone similar will take notice and post their views. For the time being, let me clarify that Qur'an does not promote evolution as we know it, rather, it does not speak against. Evolution contradicted with my common understanding BEFORE i read the message from God. Not after.
Pray that I get time come back to this thread

Greetings and Peace, all group
Does the theory of evolution have ANYTHING to do with the deen?
If it does, then the origins of humans will be addressed in AQ. If the origin of humans does not pertain to the deen, no mention should be expected.
Whether mention is made or not, the following directions from AQ may be useful
1736 And do not uphold what you have no knowledge of. For the hearing, eyesight, and heart, all these you are responsible for.
2164 Surely, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the differences between the night and the day, and the ships that sail in the sea for the benefit of the people, and what GOD has sent down of water from the sky so He brings the earth back to life after it had died, and He sent forth from it every creature, and the dispatching of the winds and the clouds that have been designated between the earth and the sky are signs for a people who comprehend.
We are invited to verify truth, and otherwise learn from the environment.
If there is a claim that any part of AQ is untrue, please post the specific parts of AQ contrasted with what is otherwise claimed to be truth.
ALLAH knows best.

Ofcourse, man was created as man. Before that, it was just another monkey when it was not man.
Then where is the exact transition point -- father/mother monkey who beget the first human child i.e. Adam?
Life is like a 4 bit chemical intelligent program with precise instructions to multiply, error correcting code, copy, and delete functions with adaption build in initially and certain parts of the code get amplified while other parts remain dormant or damaged by environment etc.

My Review on Dr. Shanavas' book, Islamic Theory of Evolution the Missing Link Between Darwin and the Origin of Species, Brainbowpress.
(Short Version)
Say Travel in the earth and observe how the creation was originated. Then, God establishes the final design. God determines all things. (Quran, 2920)
This work should be used as a textbook in every college, especially in countries with predominantly Muslim populations. It should be translated into all major languages. It provides irresistible evidence and ingenious arguments in educating the reader on historical, philosophical and scientific misconceptions and distortions. If you think that the evolution of the species is mere atheistic theory, this book will challenge and ultimately refute every aspect of your argument. You will be surprised to learn that it is just the opposite evolution is the divine law in the creation of all living beings.
Dr. Shanavas' book was previously published under the title Evolution and/or Creation an Islamic Perspective. We decided to publish the revised version under a new title, Islamic Theory of Evolution The Missing Link between Darwin and the Origin of Species. The cover picture realistically reflects the common attitude among the proponents of the theory of evolution since they ignore the important contribution of Muslim scientists and abuse the theory by associating it with unwarranted philosophical conclusions such as atheism. Dr. Shanavas respects Charles Darwin as one of the greatest scientists.
In this landmark book, Dr. Shanavas defends the theory of evolution both scientifically and theologically and provides historical background that has been eradicated from public memory. Though a great majority of people, regardless of their religion, consider Charles Darwin as the originator of the idea of evolution, Shanavas reminds us that Darwin (1809-1882) and his grandfather Erasmus Darwin were influenced by the work of Muslim scientists who lived centuries before them.
The following statements by John William Draper (1812-1883), first president of American Chemical Society, a contemporary of Darwin, and a former president of New York University summarizes the deliberately induced academic amnesia in the West
"I have to deplore the systematic manner in which the literature of Europe has contrived to put out of sight our scientific obligations to the Muhammadans. Surely they cannot be much longer hidden. Injustice founded on religious rancor and national conceit cannot be perpetuated forever."(Draper, John William. The Intellectual Development of Europe, p. 42.)
" (t)heological authorities were therefore constrained to look with disfavor on any attempt to carry back the origin of the earth to an epoch indefinitely remote, and on the Muhammadan theory of evolution which declared that human beings developed over a long period of time from lower forms of life to their present condition... Sometimes, not without surprise, we meet with ideas with which we flatter ourselves with having originated in our own times. Thus our modern doctrine of evolution and development were taught in their schools . In fact they carried them much farther than We are disposed to do, extending them even to inorganic or mineral things." (The History of the Conflict between Religion and Science, John William Draper, pp. 118, 187-188.)
Ironically, this Western amnesia coincided with the decline in Muslim world. By abandoning rational thinking and scientific methodology which is according to Quran is the necessary condition for being a muslim, they followed dogmas and story tellers.
Ironically, this Western amnesia coincided with the decline in Muslim world. By abandoning rational thinking and scientific methodology which is according to Quran is the necessary condition for being a muslim, they followed dogmas and story tellers.
Will Durant, an American historian, reminds his readers that medical books authored by Ali Ibni Sina (980-1037) and Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi (844-926) were both used as textbooks in European universities for centuries, and that in 1395 Razi's book Kitab al-Hawi was among the nine textbooks used by the University of Paris. The same book informs the reader that Avicenna's Qanun fil Tibb, a science encyclopedia, was a main textbook at Montpelier and Louvain universities until the mid-17th century. We should mention two important Muslim scientists who had immense impact on scientific enterprise in Europe Abu Bakr ibn Tufayl, known in the West as Abubacer (1107-1185) and philosopher Abu al-Walid Muhammad ibn Rushd who became famous in the West by the name Averroes (1126-129.
Muslim scientists and philosophers of the medieval period had no qualms in accepting evolution as a divine system for creation. For instance, the prominent Muslim polymath, philosopher and sociologist Ibni Khaldun (1332-1406), after a paragraph about the origin of human species, reminds the reader with a verse describing the deterministic nature of God's system "You will never find a change in God's system." In his famous book Muqaddimah, Ibni Khaldun proposes a theory of evolution starting from minerals. Minerals, according to Ibn Khaldun, evolve and become seeded and seedless plants. Plants evolve and reach to their zenith with palm trees and vines. The evolution continues with snails and shelled sea animals. The diversification in animal kingdom reaches the zenith of creation by gradual evolution into human beings with consciousness and thinking skills. According to Ibn Khaldun, monkeys are the link between animals and the first stage of humanity. Ibn Khaldun presents the theory of evolution by using scientific language, arguing that the essence of creation (in modern terminology genetic code) passes through various changes (mutations) generating one species after another.
In addition to these, Muhammad al-Haytham (965-1039), who is known in the West by the name Alhazen, defends human evolution starting from minerals, plants, and animals in Kitabal Manazer, his book on optical science. Prominent leaders of Sufism such as Ibn Arabi (1165-1240) and Jaluluddin Rumi (1207-1273) also had no problem in accepting the idea of creation through evolution, an idea which was commonly held among Muslims. The Muslim Geologist al-Biruni (973-104 in his book Kitab al-Jamahir also asserts that humans are created after long periods of evolution from simple organisms through natural selection.
Dr. Shanavas addresses a major philosophical issue, the perceived conflict between random events and divine intervention and aptly resolves the problem. Shanavas explains that God limits His omniscience as well as His omnipotence to provide a degree of free will for His creatures. At the same time, God maintains His omniscience by making time relative, and without interfering with the immutable laws of nature, He allows us to enjoy the gift of freedom.
Dr. Shanavas' book is recognized by experts within the field. For example, Professor Allene Phy-Olsen, in a recent book, Evolution, Creationism, and Intelligent Design, recommends Shanavas' book as "basic to any discussion of the Abrahamic religions and modern science.

Qur'aan says Man was matter, not monkeys as you think your forefathers were monkeys.
Shalom,
"Has there come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing mentioned ? Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing."
So the way you chose to interpret things would result in many such hypothesis. Let us consider the cases. Do you have life in you ? If so
2130 Have those who rejected not seen that the heavens and the earth were one piece, so We split them apart? And that We have made from the water everything that lives. Will they not believe?
So now I was water , right ? not monkey.
Who made all things good which He created, and He began the creation of man from clay;
So, in reality my friend. You are referring to only one specific point in the creation of man as we know it. The Book does refer to water, dust, clay, fluid, clot. Which perfectly fits into the history of man as science defines it.
The Lord said that space and matter were one thing before He separated that(2130), BUT He also said that he created the earth. Does it mean that the universe did not evolve ??? It just materialized in an instant from our perspective ?
If the Lord can be my creator even though clearly I was born in the womb of my mother who was impregnated by my father, why cant He be the creator of Adam without Adam having to materialize into man from clay model.
What do you say my friend ? Educate me on where I am going wrong.
May the God of Abraham guide you to success
PEACE

Correct. Monkeys are monkeys, man is man. We just have common ancestor.
Peace be on you.
