    Salaams all,
Does anybody think they have been replaced,if so by who?

That is according to the following ayat

    011.057
YUSUFALI "If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things."
PICKTHAL And if ye turn away, still I have conveyed unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you, and my Lord will set in place of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot injure Him at all. Lo! my Lord is Guardian over all things.
SHAKIR But if you turn back, then indeed I have delivered to you the message with which I have been sent to you, and my Lord will bring another people in your place, and you cannot do Him any harm; surely my Lord is the Preserver of all things.

    Thanks.

        Salaams zenje,

        1. ?So, if you turn away, then I have delivered what I was sent to you with. And my Lord will bring after you a people who are not like you, and you will not harm Him the least. My Lord is Guardian over all things.?

        It's A'okay.

        But you didn't reply?
        Thanks.
        Salaam.

          Thanks mz,

I don't think we've been replaced, or that we're the replacement for that matter... this is my opinion. )

          Peace.

            Peace be upon you,

I am sure we are the replacements for someone who once strived, but eventually succumbed to the whispers of shaytaan. But we can easily be the ones replaced if we not of the protectors(mutaqeen).

              peace all

The Aayah in question is uttered by prophet HUD to the people of AD and not by prophet Muhammad to his people.

THE AD PEOPLE SUCCEEDED THE PEOPLE OF NOAH

"Do you (Ad people) wonder that there has come to you a Reminder (and an advice) from your Lord through a man from amongst you that he may warn you? And remember that He made you (KHULAFAA) SUCCESSORS after the people of Nuh (Noah), and increased you amply in stature. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, so that you may be successful." 765/66/67/68/69

THE THAMUD PEOPLE SUCCEEDED THE PEOPLE OF AD

They said "O Hud! no Clear (Sign) hast thou brought us and we are not the ones to desert our gods on thy word! Nor do we believe in thee! "We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with imbecility." He said "I call Allah to witness and do ye bear witness that I am free from the sin of ascribing to Him "Other gods as partners! So scheme (your worst) against me all of you and give me no respite. "I put my trust in Allah my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving creature but He hath grasp of its forelock. Verily it is my Lord that is on a Straight Path. "If ye turn away I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another People to (YASTAKHLIF) SUCCEED you and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things." So when Our decree issued We saved Hud and those who believed with him by (special) Grace from Ourselves We saved them from a severe Penalty. 1153/54/55/56/57/58

To the Thamud people (We sent) Saleh one of their own brethren he said "O my people! worship Allah; ye have no other god but Him. Now hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord! This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you so leave her to graze in Allah's earth and let her come to no harm or ye shall be seized with a grievous punishment. "And remember when He made you (KHULAFAA) SUCCESSORS after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 773/74

The Aad people were the successors of the people of Noah saved after the flood, and the Thamud people were the successors of the Aad people.

Generations before you We destroyed when they did wrong their Apostles came to them with Clear Signs but they would not believe! Thus do We requite those who sin! Then WE MADE YOU (KHALAA'IF) SUCCESSORS in the land AFTER THEM to see how ye would behave! 1013/14

THE PEOPLE OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD SUCCEEDED THE PEOPLE OF THE PREVIOUS GENERATIONS DESTROYED (AD, THAMUD, AND MADYAN)

              Thanks

Good post Hafeez -at least you have got your eye's open i unfortunately missed who it referred to.

But isn't there something like this said about the generation of the last prophet.

                Salaams.

                  Chapter 9
                  38. O you who believe, what is wrong with you when you are told ?March forth in the cause of God,? you become heavy on Earth. Have you become content with this worldly life over the Hereafter? The enjoyment of this worldly life compared to the Hereafter is nothing.
                  39. If you do not march forth, then He will punish you with a painful retribution, and He will replace you with another people, and you do not bother Him in the least. God is capable of all things.
                  40. If you do not help him, then God has helped him. When those who rejected expelled him, he was one of only two, and when they were in the cave, he said to his friend ?Do not grieve, for God is with us.? So God sent down calmness over him and He supported him with soldiers that you did not see, and He made the word of those who rejected be the lowest, and God?s word be the highest. God is Noble, Wise.

                  Chapter 76
                  27. These people like the current life, and they put behind them a heavy Day.
                  28. We have created them, and We have made them strong. And if We wished, We would replace their kind completely.
                  29. This is a reminder, so let whoever wills take a path to his Lord.
                  30. And you cannot will, except if God wills. God is Knowledgeable, Wise.

                    Nice work Zenje,
i thought there was something like that, but didn't know where about. But i think this is being said to them people then-but equally applicable to us now.

My thoughts -it could be happening now.But may be it can happen every now and then in accordance with how we are living ourselves.Salaams.
