If hijab(covering of the head) is not mandatory, according to the Quran, then is head covering required during prayer?

If not, why? Most people who do not wear a headscarf still cover their heads whilst praying. If wearing a headscarf while praying is justified, is covering the hair on a normal basis justified?

      Thank you,

I would appreciate responses w/ Quran references.

How can you expect Quran references when Quran does not even mentioned headscarf??

And why should women wear headscarf while praying? Why not men?

Praying is ment for feeling closer to God, not about certain rituals or dresses. But if headscarf makes you feel more close to God, than feel free to wear it. If it has not importance for your connection with God, then dont wear it.

Does God not see your body inside out? If you are ALONE, what prevents you from even doing salat NAKED?

          Shalom,

          Partially true.

If I am alone, I need not be naked. But should the circumstance demand it, I don't see any problem with it. I think I pointed out this issue about nude salat somewhere else in this forum.

726 O Children of Adam, We have sent down for you garments to alleviate your bodies, and feathers; and the garment of righteousness is the best. That is from the signs of God, perhaps they will remember.

727 O Children of Adam, do not let the devil afflict you as he evicted your parents from the paradise; he removes from them their garments to show them their bodies. He and his tribe see you from where you do not see them. We have made the devils as allies for those who do not believe

So, the way I see it is that above all is my intention and that requires a clean heart. After that, I find it very funny that one would entertain in the idea of reminding God of the day the devil tricked my parents and uncovered their nakedness. Just because God knows everything about me does not necessarily mean that I have to validate all that infront of him in Salat.

          PEACE

God does not need to be reminded. He is omniscient!
            Perhaps being naked invites the presence of jinn;
But if we cannot do our salat naked, what is wrong with this planet that we cannot feel justified comfort in the presence of our own creator?

              Naked salat!

I think you are a looser who avoid the truth, because you fight for your idolaterous status. you put pretense before truth. And make feeble claims that you are not pantheist, and "beyond isms", while still claiming that "everything is the truth" aka God. Which to you again is a multiverse, which CREATES the universe. I could go on and on, but it`s all just inchoherent babble.

What annoys me is that you claim all this has got something to do with Islam.
Islam is about monotheism, and its God is not a multiverse. And DMT use is forbidden for monotheists. You talk so much trash, its too much of a job to list it all.

Ofcourse you are probably so stupid that you ignore all of this, and continue as if everything is normal. And that is why I think you are mad.

Isnt there a high possiblity of 'garments' here being used as an allegory? Please note the word 'we have SENT DOWN' which gives me a suspicion of that this should not be taken literary.

Salat doesn't equal to prayer. Prayer is an integral part of religion, while Islam denounces all religion as worthless, without exception.

                    Shalom,

I think that has a lot to do with borrowing stuffs from bible and rebranding it as Islam.

                    1 Corinthian 11 (verse 3-16)
But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head?it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.
A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels. Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

Judge for yourselves Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice?nor do the churches of God.

So, we see that the Biblical idea is such that there is a type of hierarchy of beings as follows
                    1.God
                    2.Jesus
                    3.Man
                    4.Women
                    5.Others

The women is supposed to cover her head to submit to the authority of man. Because she was created for him, not he for her. One may ask why man dont do the same , the Bible argues that its not necessary that the same should happen to man, since man was made in the image of God. It further argues telling you about how disgraceful long hair is for man but not for women. It argues that this is because a women is supposed to cover her head anyway.

Undoubtedly, the converts to Islam couldnt let go off these practices and beliefs and blended them with Islam. It is absolutely ludicrous that today even after having the furqaan (Criterion) in your hands, you beg to ask such questions regarding head coverings. The Qur'an, which is the furqaan, does not dictate such hierarchical systems which have to depends on head coverings.

I apologize to any christian in advance if my quoting of bible and understanding is found to be offencive. Let me assure you that my purpose was only to explain how to distinguish between "arabic-abrahamic cultures influenced heavily by Bible" and "Islamic-abrahamic cultures as presented in the Qur'an".

                    Peace be on you

                      Please refer

Similarly, There is no prescribed Step-by-step way of doing the salat in the Quran. nevertheless, we do have example of how people did them.
Now there can actually be 3 positions of Salat

ZakarYAH Standing doing his salat (339)
Believers do their salat while bowing/kneeling (555)
Muhammed Ending his Salat by Prostrating (4102)

Moreover, the sole purpose of Doing the salat is to remember God Almighty (2014), and not the quantity of bowing/kneeling.
Thus, one can conclude that most of the duration of the salat is spend during standing position, and the bowing/kneeling position, and that there has to be 1 prostration, because that is the end of our salat as per 4102.

***For the Bowing/Kneeling position, some translate Rk3 ( ), as bowing, and some translate it as kneeling.
We can get a glimps of this position as David "fell down" and did his rkoo3" in 3824, and also, solomon, "fell down", as the animal ate his staff when he was dead 3414.
***Thus Rk3 (&#1593 has to be come about from a position of high potential (e.g standing), into a position of low potential (e.g bowing/kneeling)

Cool, but I currently have YouTube blocked (usually do this during my college semester) to keep me on track since YouTube can be addicting for me...in a bad way.

So what is that person in your avy holding? A bible or something? Hadith book lol maybe?

Either way she's been seeing way too many horror movies...
