Where do read in the Quran telling you to SAY or WRITE "Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam" after Muhammed's name?

Quote from Mazhar on Yesterday at 125609 AM
      Edip,
Have you ever noticed in my posts a reference and reliance placed on a single one of what is called hadith?
You have accepted that I am quoting only from Qur'aan. And I believe and accept all, not partially, what is stated in the Qur'aan, including respecting and honouring whomever it orders to afford respect, dignity and salutations.
Well, that is a good news. But, your initial reaction to my article had a non-Quranic BRACKET

      Quote
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the Exalted.
Where do read in the Quran telling you to SAY or WRITE "Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam" after Muhammed's name?

      Peace,
      Edip

      Peace,

I may tell you another point, that I do not write or add anything in the parenthesis which is not mentioned in the Qur'aan.

I know that you do understand the menings of individual words in Arabic sentences of Qur'aan.

The Last three words are the predicate of Verb Like Particle Inna. You perhaps know that Inna is for emphasising the authenticity and certainity of the predicate. One of the Subject of the verb is Allah, the Exalted.

is definite, referring and identifying whom? Muhammad, with whom I have written in the parenthesis "Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'"- Have I lied or actually accepted and highlighted a truth mentioned about him in the Qur'aan?
Should you not accept me the most truthful? Reason!! The verb in above informative statement of Qur'aan is imperfect plural with indicative mood. I have written the same verb as singular Perfect, past tense where the subject is Allah, the Exalted. Muhammad "Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'" is not corporeally with me, for this reason the verb used is perfect.

You are just parrotign one of the many Sunni distortions. Here are my counter arguments in three notes at the Quran a Reformist Translation.

2136 Say, "We acknowledge God and what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Patri-archs, what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make a distinction between any of them and to Him we peacefully surrender."*

002136 See 2285. The verse is a refuta-tion of the innovation of adding words of praise after Muhammed's name. The verse tells us to mention the names of prophets without praising them. Those who worship Muhammed might seek an excuse in the fact that Muhammed's name is not mentioned here. However, the verse preemptively refutes such an argument by instructing us not to discriminate among God's prophets. Those who praise Mu-hammed's name with fabricated lengthy phrases are not followers of Muhammed, since Muhammed was a monotheist who invited people to praise God and submit to God alone, not himself. See 248; 3356.

3356 God and His controllers support the prophet. O you who acknowledge, you shall support him, and yield completely.*

033056 This verse is one of the most distorted and abused verses. We translated the word salli ala as "support/encourage." The same word occurs at 3343 and 999,103. When these verses are studied comparatively, the traditional abuse and distortion becomes evident. Through this distortion, Muslim masses are led to commemorate and praise Muhammed's name day and night, rather than his Lord's and Master's name (3341-42). Also, see 2157.

3343 He is the One who supports you, along with His controllers, to lead you out of darkness into the light. He is ever Compassionate towards those who acknowledge.

999 From the Arabs there is he who acknowledges God and the Last day, and considers his spending as a means towards God, and the support of the messenger. It indeed makes them closer. God will admit them in His mercy; God is Forgiving, Compassionate.*
9100 The pioneers of the emigrants and the supporters, and those who fol-lowed them in kindness; God has accepted them, and they have ac-cepted Him; and He prepared for them gardens with rivers flowing beneath in which they will abide eternally. Such is the great success.
9101 Among the Arabs around you are hypocrites, as well as from the city people; they are audacious in hypocrisy. You do not know them, but We know them. We will punish them twice, then they will be returned to a great punishment.
9102 Others who have acknowledged their sins, they have mixed good work with bad. Perhaps God will pardon them. God is Forgiving, Compassionate.
9103 Take from their money a charity to purify them and improve them with it, and support them. Your support is tranquility for them; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.

009099-103 This verse exposes one of the most popular distortions made in the meaning of salla ala (to support, encour-age), which has been transformed into glorifying Muhammed's name day and night. See 3343,56 and 2136.

            Peace peace
One Fact is that in ALL of the times that the word "Nabi" is mentioned, it was during when he was still ALIVE. (e.g. Don't Raise your voices above the Prophet)
Thus it can be concluded that one cannot "Saly" on the Nabi right now since he is Dead.
God Has Forgiven him as per 482 and this might mean that The Prophet Muhammed is going to heaven.

***IN ANY MEANS People are NOT helping the Prophet by stating "Sala allahu 3alayhi wasalam" (God HAS "sali" on him, and bestowed peace upon).

***Otherwise, tell me, how is saying that each time you hear the Prophet's name help him in any way?

Do you really need this Mazhar? You have a God-given brain. Here is a suggestion

Instead of "support" try using the letter X for the unknown. Then, read all the three verses and see which meaning fits all easily? Then, pay attention in all three verses where SALLI ALA is mentioned. SEE that NONE use the instruction SAY! Then, read verse 2136 and note that it starts with the instruction SAY (Qul)!

              Unfortunately

              1. You ignore the other two verses where Muhammed was instructed to Salli Ala his friends. Where God and His angels Salli Ala us, that is you and me!

              2. You ADD a fabricated instruction, SAY, in the beginning of one of the verses.

              3. You IGNORE the instruction SAY in the beginning of 2136 where we are instructed to call prophets by their names, wihtout adding fabricated words of praise.

              So, my dear friend

You have problem with the Quran and your reasoning faculty. Your problem cannot be cured by this or that dictionary. I hope you take heed from the verses of the Quran.

PS The comment made by youssef4342 is excellent and his question is instructive.

              Peace,
              Edip

The Text comprises of words which are knit together. It is not hit and trial exercise. Words have predetermined meanings and perception. It is not game of placing X for the unknown. These are gimmicks when people are confronted with specific realities.

The question was from which lexicon did you take the meaning "Support" for your translation?

                  Mazhar

Let?s assume that God is sending blessing on Prophet 3356...Let?s say God is saying ?bless on you oh prophet? although this is a slogan and God is above that. To Him is ?Be and it is '.........Okay ,now how you Mazhar obey God by sending blessing on/to prophet?! Oh yes you say ?Our Lord send your blessing upon him/prophet?!...Helloooooo God is asking you do it not that asking Him in doing it for you!!!?Do you see how it?s absurd in asking God in doing it for you since He's asking you doing it, instead you yourself sending blessing from your own power which you don?t have any you ask God in doing so!!!

This is like the case in verse 523-24

Two men who were reverent and blessed by GOD said, "Just enter the gate. If you just enter it, you will surely prevail. You must trust in GOD, if you are believers."

They said, "O Moses, we will never enter it, so long as they are in it. Therefore, go - you and your Lord - and fight. We are sitting right here."

                  Asana

I made some revisions and added a few paragraphs.

                      Here is the revised version

                      http//19.org/749/muhammed/

                      Salaam Edip,

I've read the article. I have three questions if you don't mind answering them.

                      1. Can you please post "MohammEd" in arabic with tasjkeel
                      2. Why do you believe it's MohammEd and not MohammUd or MohammId?
                      3. this question is a little bit of topic but I was just curious. You qouted this verse

616 When Jesus, son of Mary, said, ?O children of Israel, I am God?s messenger to you, authenticating what is present with me of the Torah and bringing good news of a messenger to come after me whose attribute will be ?the most praising.?? But when he showed them the clear proofs, they said, ?This is clearly magic.?

Can you explain to me the blue part. I don't understand why you translated "ismuhu" in that way.

Thank you for your time and may Allah increase us in knowledge.

Alaikum salam, Bender. I do not have time for this, unfortunately.

                          1. Why do you believe it's MohammEd and not MohammUd or MohammId?

The first and last one reflects the sound of its grammatical structure.

                          1. this question is a little bit of topic but I was just curious. You qouted this verse

ISM in Arabic simply mean Attribute, and its plural is ASMa. God has all the "beautiful attributes" (ASMa ul-Husna).

Thank you for your time and may Allah increase us in knowledge.

                              Noon,

Arrogance together with ignorance is not a good combination; they are corrossive and occasionally explosive sun

The English word NAME is not the same as the Arabic ISM. In English, you can use any meaningless sound to label a being, but in Arabic as well as Hebrew names were made of adjectives, descriptions, or attributes. God does not not have names in that sense, since all divine ASMA (plural of ISM) are meaningful ATTRIBUTES or DESCRIPTIONS, including the word ALLAH, which is the contraction of AL-ELAH. That is the reason why we can traslate all divine attributes. That is why, God has no Arabic or Hebrew or English name.

Edip, anyone that posts a simple question to you comes across to you as arrogant/ignorant.

This is not about meaning of names rather how to properly say in Arabic "His name is John"?

You translated ?whose attribute will be? makes no sense in any language.

685 and Zakariyy and Yay and Isa and Elias each from the righteous
197 O Zakariyy indeed We give you good news in a boy his name Yay
1912 O Yay hold the book
2190 so We responded to him and We gave to him Yay

Therefore, in any language including Arabic his name Yay and Yay is his name.

                                Peace!

ISM in Arabic simply mean Attribute.

                                  Root

Words from this Root in the Grand Qur'aan

                                  a) Total occurrences 381

                                  b) No of constructions 33

The basic perception infolded in the Root is of eminence, elevation, ascension, transcendence, and loftiness of a thing spread and overshadowing another thing. This causes the thing to become conspicuous and prominent and renders its existence conveniently recognizable enabling acknowledgment by everyone. The elevated, fully spread and prominent Sky roofing the entire Earth is . The eminence and other visual peculiarities of the Sky reflect the perception infolded in the Root.
This Root is the source of the word http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.%20Tabweeb/00001.%20Ism%20Name/16.gif, which means name, or code of a thing or being/person. The name of a thing or person/being yields the same effect, which is the basic perception, infolded in the Root. The name gives the basic cognition of existence and presence of a thing and person. Hence, name is the introduction for apparent recognition of a thing and person. Cognition of the code/name of a thing or person is the elementary/first step in gaining knowledge about the thing or person. Name of a thing or person gives it or him a vivid distinction from all other things and persons/makes it or him distinguished/identified/definite/isolated/prominent/popularized and grants an ability to others to identify and describe/remember/recall/mention it or him. The name/code serves as a basis/foundation for others to enquire and study about it to gain knowledge.

Alaikum salam, Bender. I do not have time for this, unfortunately.

                                    Inshallah. Peace.
                                    Edip

                                    Salaam Edip,

Ok thank you for your answers and your time.

Just want to add, that I am always open to ?new? understandings but I believe that this is not only a new understanding but also a change in a word and that doesn?t feel good.

I am afraid that today it?s a change in tasjkeel but maybe tomorrow someone changes a whole letter or a whole word or adds a word or deletes a word. Yes I know that maybe in earlier Qurans the tasjkeel was absent and that we have now a couple of different Qurans, but I believe that we have to do it with what we have now and changing things in what we have given just doesn?t feel good.
But in the end even with all the changings, adding?s and deleting?s from people, it will never change The Thikr, Alhamdulillah.

On your understanding of the word ?ism? I also don?t agree. There are a lot of examples were this understanding doesn?t hold in my opinion. Just take a look for example at 336. How can the wife of Imraan give an attribute to her child, and what exactly is the attribuut meryem that she gave to her child?

Salaam and may Allah increase us in our knowledge,
                                    Bender

Sorry you?re deeply wrong?.Edip is right?.It just need to grasp the meaning of the 1965 ?.When you call God Al-Rahman does that mean you using a meaningless word or you have to understand it first what it means in order be able to call Him by that name/word ? Al-Rahman is an attribution.

1965-- The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; you shall worship Him and steadfastly persevere in worshiping Him. Do you know of anyone who equals Him?

Sorry, but do you even know what does attribution mean?

What is the term for "attribution" in Arabic?

From where the word denoting "attribution" is drawn?

Personal Names only identify a Person, not his traits/attributes. Person comes the first, then his trait and that is Adjetival Phrase in Arabic, unlike English where trait comes first and then the person portrayed.

Edip sometimes adopts childish attitude only when a specific Name is under discussion, otherwise, he remains sane for other words of Arabic.

How would I know the attribute Edip Yuksel denotes? Do I have any substance to find that or should I make myself stupid to perceive him from his avator?

Here we go again!!...As usual soon you?ve given a verse you can?t refute it resorted to answering the question with irrational questions.

Al-Rahman is not just a name/ ism? There is a big concept behind it?If one can?t grasp the concept/meaning of it then hasn?t known who God is and why calling him Al-Rahman.

You think since you know Arabic grammar you?re intelligent enough to understand the Quran too....You?re so warped up into the grammar that forgotten what the message is and constantly criticise with your grammatical knowledge.
