Minor Shirk: Hadith? or does it have Quranic origins?
-
Well I have been looking at this thing called Minor Shirk which Traditionalists say it is a seperate form of Shirk where one does worship to Allah with the intention of showing off, such as paying charity or praying in order for others to see.
I understand that boasting has been considered a sin in the Quran but never has it been called shirk from what i've observed. It always seems to be hadith based when they mention this.
Traditionalist try to prove this point by bringing up this verse sometimes
"Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." 18110
But that seems quite vague as that rather seems to aim to be the regular definition of shirk we are familiar with rather than showing off mixed in with Shirk somehow.
I wouldn't think Allah would keep it so subtile in when he has said the book is quite clear.
I know it is hadith, but just cause this is shirk related, it does somewhat scare me to which is why I ask of you guys what is your opinion? Should I disregard this as hadith and not worry? or does this have some Quranic value?
Thanks

Greetings and Peace, all group
Boasting...shirk? Nah! rotfl We should avoid boasting, but it is hardly shirk.
It is more likely to fall under the umbrella of shirk for one to take extra-Quranic hadith as guidance! sunDisregard ALL extra-Quranic hadith for matters of the Deen. If a single extra-Quranic hadith were correct, it couldn't benefit a person anymore than following the coresponding Guidance of AQ.
ALLAH knows best.

Dear Brother,
Allah, Forgive me, He did not sent a riddle but out of His mercy provided us a book which explained itself in detail and also perfect, protected and does not required any other source for its explanation. (6114) Say "Shall I seek for judge other than Allah? ?(example of a one kind of Shirk)- when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail." They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt. Mover our He has made it (Al-Quran) easy to understand for those who reflect.( 5417) For those who want to take advice, we have made this Quran easy to understand. Is there anyone, who will reflect on it and take advice? It is ridiculous idea that there is Minor Shirk or Major Shirk. Shirk is a crime If, hold by someone till death, deserve no forgiveness from Allah (swt). However we may typify Shirk to understand it

To think that anyone shares the forces and authority reserved for God alone is?shirk?. (1316, 1711, 11826, 18110 and many other verses)
-
To consider oneself subservient or obedient and fearing any other force or human as god beside God or is bowed before him is ?shirk?.(2455, 1826)
-
To accept the supremacy of anyone or anything except the Qur?an is ?shirk? and to follow any law excepting this law is shirk. (1699-100)
-
Deen formulates unity within the ummah (the Believers of God) and to be divided into sects is ?shirk?.3031
-
One God; one code of life given by Him; its followers are one ummat; one system for this ummat this is what Oneness is anything besides it is ?shirk?. (3031)

Negation of God?s absoluteness is Shirk
-
Acceptance of God?s son is Shirk.
One who make his/her ego and the religious leaders his/her God and follow them instead of the Laws of God commit Shirk.
Basting means to speak with excessive pride about one?s own possession or accomplishment. It is certainly hinders one?s own progress in his life. It is a weakness not a Shirk therefore, believing that ?boasting? is a Shirk in itself is a Shirk. Of course, Allah does not like boasters but such a minor sin deserves Allah?s forgiveness and is eliminated by reframing from (Kabair) major sins. Please hold your foot down and do not harbor any doubt or let the fear creep in you because of the fabricated lies attributed to the prophet. Thus, this assertion has no Quranic value at all.

1699-100 do not say what you are saying, please clarify. Did the angels commit shirk by bowing to Adam (230)? Is God commanding shirk at 547?
- Negation of God?s absoluteness is Shirk
Not surprising you didn't provide any reference for this one. What does "absoluteness" mean in this context? Absolute power? Authority? Or do we all have to become pantheists??
- Acceptance of God?s son is Shirk.
If I said we are all God's children, would that be shirk? If so, why? If not, why not?
One who make his/her ego and the religious leaders his/her God and follow them instead of the Laws of God commit Shirk.........B{o}asting means to speak with excessive pride about one?s own possession or accomplishment.
If one is boastful, in what way is that different from making one's own ego a god, and thus committing shirk??
It is certainly hinders one?s own progress in his life. It is a weakness not a Shirk therefore, believing that ?boasting? is a Shirk in itself is a Shirk. So if I don't murder, I merit God's forgiveness from my "lesser" sins? Is that right?
