Who was he? Obviously, Prophet Muhammad himself and his folllowers.

"Quran Alone" followers exited from the beginning. Unfortunately they became a minority.
Christians have alse their "Bible Alone"
Jews have also their "Thorah Alone"

However. Attention must be paid. There are people that says "quran alone" and put asides other things as complementary message (appendices of Rashad Khalifa for example).

"Qur'an Alone" is a misnomer--it is really ALLAH alone, through the system of monotheism--aka Deen.

Who was the first human monotheist? A good argument could be made for Adam (pbuh) amirite? Has there ever been a Prophet that was not a monotheist? <not a serious question> hmm

For the sake of general knowledge, knowing who the first "Quran Aloner" is might have merit...but it isn't relevant to our Deen.

The term Koranist was labelled by the Egyptian authorities when they cracked down on the Koranist in the 70s. As fas as Quran alone I think its a name that started with the Rashad Khalifa days also in the 70s. Historically Koranist were called Mutazilites and Ahl Ul Kalam and maybe the Batinis also. These three labels all had one thing in common is that they only relied on the Koran as scripture and revelation.
