    peace *

Just make sure you follow an intelligent/logical approach.

    Some effective quran study tools.

I would advise reading al quran in its entirety (several times) before one tries to conclude anything.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

              peace my daer sister,

i am almost in tears by your words for I like urself have also felt the same way .. i cnoverted to islam and many times i read hadiths sunni and shia and hadeth influenced translations of the quran and I wondered why does God hate women becasue this is the conclusion i came to after readingmany hadeeths and many articles so called islamic. i began to wish i was a man so i could have the freedom to go wherever i wanted haeth said women ahd to ask permission to go any where i wished i could be a man and come home to find a "maid" and a "cook" and someone to care for my every whim.... but then deep
down i felt sad becasue i alwasy knew God was merciful and loving and jsut and i could not deep down understand how a loving merciiful and just god prefered men over women i was stubburn and said no way i can not belive this. after i a had a child i began to really feel angry at God and hated men hwo unfair i thought i went through a very ahrdpregnancy and a labor of more than 20 hours i felt myself i was being murdered and was about to die then breastfeeding nipples sore bleeding cracked bruised i felt oh my Lord how can God hate us so much that he does this to us. then i realzied that God loves those who sacrfice most and i seen women sacrifice most and go through much for God and I should be thankful that I am honored by being the portal in which the bnew generation will be brought into this world. I then realizesd all the things i was told were lies and who started these lies who wrote these ahdeths ~MEN

These tyrants fear womens sexuality and itnelligence i beelve and fear a lossof control and wanted to keep women down with these lies and fake saying attributed to the prophet i remebred the propkhet through gods message liberated women in those times of ignoreance i knew they had to be lies....

why would my maker create me and hate me and curse me with the things the hadeth said

my heart knew it was nto true

Just like in the united states when women had to fight for there equal rights for there rights to vote for there rights to work for there rights to be educated i must say thank god i am in usa i enjoy these freedoms but many sisters are stuck int he middle east and other places that do not have these rights that god gave us freedom and equality

so as a women wwe must stand up for the owmen who have no voice who are sileneced by men and controlled by men

continue to seek truth and knowledge sincerly and ask god to increase u in knowledge and slowly u will see inshallah the lies revelaed truth willebcome clear fromf alsehood

know that God does not hate us

              think about it
who are the most murederes in jails men or women?
who are the most who rape? men or women?
who brings children in to the world
who takes care of the family
who is the most beautiful craeture of humanity

could God the merciful bestow this upon us and hate us at the same time?

i find it hard to beleive although my pain from sexism and sterotyping and control burn deep this i must bring before my God on judgement day and ask him to make those feel what i have felt and make them to see the error in there way

alomost every relgion or culture in history has osmehow tried to lower the status of women we must not lay down and die
we must stand up for truth and jsutice and equality

God loves those who are oppressed and struggle for jsutice in HIs anme.

              inshalalh
sister u will feel the love god has bestowed upon us

do not allow negative feeling to override you i know it is hard but try ur best to focus on the positives and if all else fails ask God to protect you from the whispers of the devil and to heal your heart and show u the truth and inshalalh sisters liek us jsut by using our words may liberate or motivate other sisters to actiona dn reform starts with action

peace be with u always inshalalh
              amanda

Peace be upon you believers in faith,

You dont have to be a submitter, to find out that islam is different than most people say. Look for the authentic sources. There are enough scholars in islam who have very liberal idea's but dont deviate like these people do. Study islam and their different opinions on so many issues through history. You'll find out that these sectarians have nothing common with muslims.

Read these books Islamic renaissance - sayyid abdul quddus and A young muslim's guide by sayyid hossein nasr.

Or read some books written by fatima mernissi. Or other eminent scholars.

Fear Allah and look out that you dont go astray..

                  Peace be upon you Ansar,

Do you have one atoms worth of knowledge to share, or is all of your proofs based on going to the local "scholar"? Can you give one verse to defend your position of blind following? Why are you adverse to using your own mind?

Because he doesn't have to, he can leavi it to scholar to think for him. I'm reminded of this weird conversation in a chat room yesterday, that kinda went like this...

guy 2 go ahead, I will answer the best I can and God knows best
miss r is it haram for a man and a woman to shake hands?
                    zenje lol
                    guy 1 yes it is
guy 2 yes, zina is haram

It is not blind following. Please look up the definition of tagleed. It is merely ittaba. And if you still want to call it blind following, then you and the members of this forum are also guilty of it. For example the book that has been published, or the articles on this website.

Did the sahaba also did 'blind following ('Allah is pleased with them, and they with Allah.' - quran)

I am not a supporter of all the positions of that book, nor of the articles, and you will find many who feel the same way. Likewise, those who support the positions of that book do not agree with the understandings of others either. There is only understandings that are debated here to bring out the truth. And we do not relyon theMINDS of other when we know that we are ALL responsible for our OWN MINDS(nafs).
